Not been posting for a while, but have just finished a proposal for a reskin of a building my company might buy. Have had my boss sitting next to me the whole time, not my idea of perfect work atmosphere, but 1.5 weeks later this is what i have come up with. the good news is that my boss got so impatient with how long it took to render each image so they just bought me a new Mac Pro workstation.

Seems like it was worth the effort. Your boss now has a better opinion of your abilities, you got a new workstation out of it and some of your work might contribute to the public image of the company.
Nice, and you get a new computer for it.
Might good idea to have to the boss sitting next to you to get other goodies. of course it means you can't skive off.
Depends. One of the best bosses I ever had was a guy who regularly sent us links to stuff even Youtube didn't have yet (the "bread and circuses" approach).
I'm currently at the peak of a painting spree, so in about two-three weeks or so I'll be back on SFM relevant 3D! And then about a month after that I'll give up on modelling and go back to painting, but a little while after that I'll be back... and so on.
I found an old model on my computer last night that I never really got too far on, it was supposed top be a shuttle. Well in any case, I turned it backwards and started adding stuff to it.
working on a couple of Stargate based ships atm...
First is a small Merchant ship.
and the other is an emergency base ship. the (currently) red components will be placed on a planets surface (Still deciding on the method used atm) and the gaps between them will be filled with HESCO barriers (Or something similar) carried on two small cargo ships. Currently undecided if there will be 4 components or 6...
so I got an idea in my head about a giant space ship and decided I would try and model one section of it, the first thing I had to do was come up with a rapid transit system and as the residential sections will appear similar to a modern city street, placement of the transit system seemed appropriate suspended from the ceiling. so here's the 4th attempt of the centerpiece of the city street, I'll add the side buildings later on. still got a lot of work to do on this and not sure how detailed it'll be either.

Here's a couple smaller projects I've doing while learning Maya for a class. Yup, I'm still alive. No idea when I'll be getting back to my Leviathan.

@ lennier1 Sorry I forgot to comment on your pic last night.
It's a great looking sick bay.
Whoa! That is a great scene. Looks like I could walk right into it.:thumb:
Currently called 'Grunty' it's a small alien creature based off the Halo Grunt...
(The Green man is 6 feet tall and only there to highlight the height of Grunty
Wow that's some serious detailing ! Are the words "safe" and "fire" modeled in as well ?
