I was going to have some more done before I posted this, but oh well. I usually don't have much history for my ships, but I decided do a little more for this one.

This ship was a covert intelligence gathering ship for the EssTroshTuhl corporation of the 2nd Core Thrice-Fold Empire 221,000 years ago.

198,000 years ago the ship passed to a Third Alliance ship yard just outside the Tortion Reach. This yard passed into obscurity after the Third Alliance fell (196,000 years ago). The yard was annexed by the Midermarch Council 76,000 years ago, and then by the Zirrik just before they went extinct 68,000 years ago

The ship was purchased for use as an asteroid prospector 41,000 years ago. After discovering its advanced intelligence gathering arrays, the surprised owners put the ship to use and soon discovered enough valuable ores to make continued exploration pointless.

The ship was then parked near the mining office complex, and forgotten until discovered by a ship of the Derelict Survey in 2427.

Let's see if I can finish this one before I get bored and quit.

If it helps to keep you motivated, I would really like to see it finished. There is something quite fascinating about this one. Just can't really point my finger at what it is.

Truthfully, I have always been more likely to finish something for someone else than myself.

Your work continues to be interesting. Occasionally I'll come up with a novel design, but not like you. Always a fun thread to look at. I really liked Rettung.

I like how the front isn't a sleek rounded point like many other scifi ships.

Thank you Brandenberg. I'm glad you like the ships. I usually just scribble things until something looks interesting, and go on from there.

I hope the new changes didn't ruin the look for you, Mustang13Camaro68.

Oh that's cool looking. I would play with that spike antenna pointing down though. I think it calls for something else there. Just a thought. You might not be through with it yet, so I remain uncommitted.
  • rojrenrojren2421 Louisville, Kentucky USAPosts: 1,994Member
Yeah, I just stuck the spike there so can I find it for later.

    Interesting improvement.
  • rojrenrojren2421 Louisville, Kentucky USAPosts: 1,994Member
I was going to put antennae all over this one, but I think I'll only keep the ones on the bottom.

Added a dock assembly, a cargo door and some very purple lights that need to be toned down a bit.

I really like the purple light in this shot. It reminds me of cheap 90's toys. And I mean that as a compliment. I really miss these days when everything with blinking lights on it still mesmerised me.
  • rojrenrojren2421 Louisville, Kentucky USAPosts: 1,994Member
    Thank you, Brandenberg.

I had toned down most of the purple lights a lot before I saw your post, wibble. Maybe too much? I hope that doesn't ruin it.

Worked on the 'fuel pucks', and I'm not sure what happened to the drive, but it looks different.

It looks much more vibrant now. Maybe someone accidentally turned it on?

I hope they read the manual first.

I like that newest design a lot. It definitely looks like something that was meant to be flown in space, where aerodynamics don't matter.

I think I'm done. (Although the scale on the gold material is set wrong. I may have to come back to that - or not.)

I really like the way this turned out. In fact, I'd go as far as to say it's one of my favorite designs that you've done. Apart from finding the design itself pleasing, I really like the details and the colors. It all works for me. :)

Thanks. I remember from the beginning of that one (Gallimaufry) I felt i was in a bit of a rut, and I wanted to do something different

    build0602-thumb.png

I added a bit of lighting to the fuel pucks, and an aft control room.

I like the way the green glow from the engines lights up the back of the ship and creates all of those cool shadows. It's a pleasant effect.

Thanks. It reminds me a bit of spearmint toothpaste.

Agreed, a fine ship indeed. I particularly like the spearmint drive and I'm glad to see you brought back the purple light. :)

You know, you might add detail to the bridge interior, since it shows.

Okay, not so done as I had assumed. I had the console already in place, but it was the same color as the background.

I really should fix where the transparent materials touches the window frames. AutoCAD is getting confused.
    I'll probably leave it, though.
