I also have to agree on the color scheme. And although I can imagine that the red lights disappeared frustrates you, I don't miss them.

    Thanks, all. :3
I think I'm done. It's hard to tell though. My eyes are watering something fierce, and it's difficult to see. Oh, I've named this 'Rettung'.

I've been wanting to go back and re-re-do this ship. I'm re-naming it too. It was Ouroboros (a name that;'s used a lot now) now it's "Jörmungandr". Same thing, different mythos.

It's the first ship I remember making which resulted from an AutoCAD command behaving in an unexpected way.

It's a 'First Ones' ship. The last version turned out a bit cartoony. I'm not sure how I want it to look in the end.

Now, that's just f***ing cool. It looks like a coiled up snake. I like the colors too, and how you did that glowing section for the belly of the snake.

AutoCAD just wasn't prepared for that level of awesomeness. ;)

    So it's okay then? :p
I'm drawing a blank on what else I'd want to do, so I should probably stop here before I screw it up.
    Thanks for the great critique.

"First Ones"? Are you referring to your own background story for your designs, or do you mean the First Born from 2001? (Sorry If I should know that, I haven't read the whole Blog yet)

I borrowed the phrase from Babylon 5. That was the generic term for the elder races with nearly god-like technology.

    Back to it.
This is another old ship I'm reworking: The Gallimaufry. It's a ship that's been added on to for several generations.

Added some details to the front, and fiddling around with the look of the windows.

    I love it!

I bet the Orions do too.

Love the additional details on the front, especially the new sculptural lines just aft of the front lines of windows. Kind of an Art Deco feel. Future Deco?

Art Deco is my default setting. :)

Added some details and trying some colors.

I'm doing a lot, but don't seem to be getting much done. Moving toward the midsection.

    I really like this
  • rojrenrojren2304 Louisville, Kentucky USAPosts: 1,971Member
    Thank you.

There was a lot wrong with this, so I'm mostly fixing geometry. Somewhere along the way some of the materials got messed up too.

    Loving both the new designs!
I'd like to see the Jörmungandr without the reflective surface to appreciate the hull shapes.
I love the combination of egg shapes and rectangles together. Great balance to the design. B)

    Thanks.

There's a version without materials added about 3/4 of the way down this page: https://goo.gl/photos/rPkHAJrAYrQUdEUm7

    Looks Orion

The only Orion ship I'm familiar with is the round one with the spinning glowy bits from TOS remastered.

But everything's gotta look like something.

I think I'm done. (Although the scale on the gold material is set wrong. I may have to come back to that - or not.)

Something new. I've been fooling around with it for a while, but I'm not sure if I like it or not.

    It's a space-to-space shuttle.

Worked some on the engines. Now they look like Norelco electric razors.

Not sure why, but this one captivates me for some reason. :)

Thanks. I'm finding it to be kinda difficult. It's a weird shape, and I have to be careful or things look tacked on.
