once again i'm probably way off the mark for what i imagine this will come out like. looks a cool shape with some real potential. looks like you have a part "hanging" bridge region at the bow, then a "neck" with a nice big engine bolted onto either side towards the rear. engine appears to have something looking like a star trek deflector dish at the front and jet type nozzle on the back? have you built up a whole verse around these ships, if so you may want to elaborate a little more about it.
p.s. don't know if it's something with the program you use but something always looks "wrong" about your models. i don't know exactly how it should be fixed but even plastering on a well made tileabe material could help.(if you find a nice texture pic online you can use GIMP to make it seamless in about 3 clicks.
Yeah, it's pretty much a big pot for the habitat (periuk tekanan means pressure cooker in Malay) connected to two (maybe four) turbine-like sublight engines. A few of the ships might have some back story (sometimes hinted at in the tags), but mostly they're just designs.
In this universe, I figure there's thousands (millions?) of species over billions of years, attempting to basically do the same things. Expand, explore, colonize, etc. They will undoubtedly have different ideas on how to approach the technologies required. I figure some of the technology will no longer work because the aging of the universe has caused the underlying physics to have changed.
AutoCAD is engineering software. It focuses on accuracy (to sixteen decimal points) and no so much for presentation graphics. This is changing, but it's still buggy and a resource pig. I've just been using simple shading with color books and the default shadowing and a bit of transparency so far - but it's capable of pretty impressive photo-realism in the right hands (and with the right hardware). I'll probably get more into it at a later date.
I don't know, I got kind of an art deco vibe from the 2D drawing and envisioned more odd shapes going on. But, that's just what I saw. What you're doing in 3D looks great.
looking somewhat klingon. really starting to like this ship, this time you are using the curves in a way that looks "right". can't wait to see how it finishes.
p.s. i'd finish this before trying to convert it to one engine if i were you.
the double engine ship is one of your best, i know i've said that about others before but i mean it here also, single enigne version just looks a bit wrong to my eye(bridge seems too big and drive units far too small).

Interesting. I was thinking Y-Wing.
And the single engine model:
Added more... layers, I guess. It still needs a bit more mass at the tail end.
it's improved but the two engined version was still better
