    There's no kill like overkill!

I liked the Hitchhikers' film. Definitely a fun way to pass a few hours. Though many hardcore fans seemed to hate it, the only reason I've be able to discern is "it's not like the series/book/radio show [delete depending on hipster level]".

So this is the future of shopping at the grocery store? You need weapons because you might run into something that wants the last box of Corn Pops as much as you do?

@ Dr Lee: Thanx dude, appreciate it much. :thumb:

@ oldmangreg: Yeah, in this future, shopping is moidah. :thumb:

Well I was about to add/build a few ground vehicles to go with the Citadel, but I decided to go with a couple I already had. So for starters I went ahead and took another stab at this one.

Very nice.... I was thinking, what about some sort of device that the cradle lands on that converts it into a wheeled vehicle?

That would be pretty cool, with the 8-wheeler chasis acting as a base so you could make dozens of little interchangeable trucks.

you should have kept the front cable with the hook (dont remember how it is called)

I do like the addition of gullwing doors. A "because I can" moment or some practical reason?
  • HundredHundred268 Posts: 1,021Member
@ Armondikov: Practical reasons. When I made the doors they looked really good IMO, but as you can see they're huge; each nearly a third the size of the cab itself. So, if I made them to open and close in the traditional way it would be a task for the driver and passengers to close. As they would have to get out of the vehicle bring the door in some, get back in the vehicle, and then close it. Because when they are fully open they go way out. And if it were a real vehicle, over time, the weight of the doors would weigh them down in the back; so every time someone would try to close one, they would have to lift up on it, then close it. As is the case on many two door vehicles, mostly the older models though, when I was a mechanic I often found myself realigning doors. So taking all that into account, when I repositioned the pivot point I saw that if I made them swing upwards and to the front (using hydraulics) to open, when it was time to close it again, one could just hit a button or lever, release the hydraulic, and let gravity do the rest.

    Thanx dude. :thumb:

Ah, I see you paid for the "extended cab" option. ;)
  • HundredHundred268 Posts: 1,021Member
@ Jenny: Yeah, it seemed to be the only way to go, standard cab went out in the 70's.

That's pretty darn sweet. I can't quite make out the name in the logo, which need not concern you, but would concern a freight operator.
  • HundredHundred268 Posts: 1,021Member
Thanx Jenny. And the logo in the front say Luna Corp., it's the company that makes the vehicle. :thumb:

I was trying for something unique, however I may have to redo this in favor of something more traditional.

I'm working on a kind of a logo for the truck. It's kind of like a gruff bunny-type character.

For some odd reason the truck reminds me of the one from Aliens, the one that found the alien spacecraft.
