You do know you're eventually going to have to go back and finish some of this stuff, right?
Seriously, it's a good idea to flesh out (or mesh out, if you prefer ) ideas while they're fresh in your head. I don't do that like I should and I often lose ideas. I like the new ship. I agree, the 2nd version of the gun turrets looks better.

Dude, the models I have in this thread doesn't even make up ten percent of the models I need to finish. And Blender isn't the only app I'm trying to learn, so it slows things down considerably.

If I lie down just to rest, I see all sorts of shapes and images in my head... I've lost so many great ideas over the years. Thanx for the C&C dude, appreciate it as always.
The assault trans is a great design, my only critique is that if it is trans atmo those turrets are too high profile, smaller remote turrets, or seated operator turrets would be better, but you have to find a way to get the crew into them.
The weapons and containers are what I've been mostly focusing on the last couple days. I've decided to make this another multipurpose vehicle, by making various containers to achieve this. The first one is for troops, ground vehicles, and equipment. The second is a missile container that carries exactly 1344 missiles and is for, you guessed it, heavy combat. I still have to work on the launchers, (seen at bottom). I've also added several remote turrets to the exterior in various locations, to help it live up to its name. :thumb:
Your ships are looking sweet in my eyes, I love the turrents, Im a turrent man at heart. If your worried about real world aerodynamics maybe look at how the WW2 bombers looked as related to turrents. Most were half in half out, if you made some minor changes to top ones eg show a slightly wider base that is actually a door that allows them to retract half way down when at speed it may help. For front maybe a retractable cowling that pulls back when your ready to lay down some serious fire. Anyways Im just a noob to all this 3d stuff but I sure do like your ships
Are you using 3dmax for these, and how do you draw those space suites, they look sweet, is it same program
Meph! Long time no post. Good to read from you. And thanx, and I plan to make them sleeker in a bit.
Thank you stoli, and sorry for the late reply. And, I am also very fond of turrets. :thumb: I've made several modifications to the ship, including the turrets. I will be posting them later today. Now about making the turrets retractable, well that wouldn't be very practical as the ship itself is relatively small. Having the retractable would take away much of the interior space. But as Meph stated I could make the somewhat sleeker in design.
Now as to which software I use. Most of the stuff in this thread is modeled in Blender, but there are a few things done in Max, Silo, K-3D, Wings 3D, and Hexagon.
Looking good. You can say it's not Sci-Fi looking, but how do you really know? I mean, what are stoves and refrigerators going to look like in 200 years?

All right folks here's another quick ship to finish... someday.

Alright folks, is this kitchen too bright?
I realize the render is not finished, but I stopped it to post this image to find out if the shadows were too dark.
