I have to add the rest of the house/condo and do other stuff to the roof, but this is basically with you're looking at.

Interesting. It looks like one of those prefab jobs that they have in Sci-Fi movies and shows with colonies, the type that are designed to go up in a hurry.
  • HundredHundred268 Posts: 1,021Member
Yeah it kinda does. Which is why I may add it to another collection of structure I made. Thanx. :tumb:

Plus a quick update of the other kitchen.

Are the light poles in this image hard to see?

Somewhat. It depends on how closely I look at it.

Adding a touch more of reflectivity will help

I just made them darker... And I don't know what happened to my sun and its flares in the bottom image, gonna have to re-post that one. And, I'm gonna have redo the truck as well. Thanx Fellas. :thumb:

Those lampposts are a lot easier to see now. :)

Nice work on this one. I especially like the night shots, the spot lights hitting the pavement is really cool. As for the flare, I can see it's there but it's not very big. You might need to up the intensity or something (I'm not familiar at all with how Blender does flares.)

    Good work Kerwin.
    You have been busy!

Thanx Fellas, appreciate the C&C as always. :thumb:

I'm trying to give it the look of being carved directly into the rock-face as opposed to being made of just concrete. Tell me what you think? :thumb:

I see the rock texture hasn't been received too well... Okay, how about these. They're each at a different resolution, and each with different levels of grime and bump mapping applied.

BTW even though I'm posting it, I've decided to use the fourth texture for whatever ancient rain-forest temple I ever build. :thumb:

It's not a bad texture, it's just that the smooth sides don't really scream "rocky" to me. So, the texture kind of sends mixed messages. If you used that texture on something less smooth, (like a mountain) I'm sure it would look good.

Counting down from the top, I like 2, 3 and 5 the best. :) Why does the car only appear in the top one?
  • HundredHundred268 Posts: 1,021Member
@ Jenny: 3, and 5 are my personal picks. And thanx for the C&C :thumb:.

@ evil_genius_180: To be honest there actually is a mountain, the structure itself is embedded into the side of one, and the bridge actually crosses over steep canyon. Those are on another layer, they're not completely finished either. As for the car I just decided to turn off that layer for the other renders, no real reason. Thanx dude. :thumb:

I haven't been following this thread, so I'm hesitant to jump in with much C&C, but your image here reminds me of pictures I've seen of the Korean DMZ.
  • HundredHundred268 Posts: 1,021Member
 It's an open thread Jenny, if you like something you see, say so, and if something looks like crap to you say so. I won't get offended either way. The purpose for me making this thread was to improve my skills, through candid feedback from other members. That means you too by the way.

    Tell me what think? :thumb:

Ah, the ubiquitous snack machine! I have sometimes wondered... if the First Doctor had washed up in 1990s Tokyo, instead of 1960s London, might the Tardis chameleon circuit have frozen in the shape of a snack machine?

    Nice work, it looks good.

Well I personally think it would look kind of strange with Who, and the rest of his gang all trying to walk into a vending machine. A police box I can see. But a vending machine?

    Thanx Jenny.

    That's simple? ;)

    Nice work, it looks good.

Thanx, and yes, simple, these are just exercises in texturing.

I have decided to add the Phoebos Class Assault Transport to the Citadel's Universe. As well as a few other models. The Ugly Yellow Ship is just making a cameo apperance in the second shot. :thumb:

Going from vending machine to concrete fortress in a single page is kinda surreal, but still great work on all of it!
  • HundredHundred268 Posts: 1,021Member
^ Well not really surreal, fortresses need vending machines too.
