That landing gear is freakin' sweet. I also really like how that top section looks detached (I figured I would.) The comparison shot is really cool.
Quick update. Almost done with the exterior. Now as for the interior, that's another matter. In any case, I suspect I'll start texturing it before I get to working on the innards.
Thanks Fellas. Still texturing the shuttle, should be done soon. But, in the mean time... I started this a few days back. Been working on it off and on over the weekend.
It has three decks, and so far it has a bridge, an engine room, an elevator (shaft), a galley/dining area, a cargo/hanger bay, and sixteen living quarters. I plan to add a brig, a large common area, a water storage area, a weapons storage area, a series of service tunnels, and a medical bay. Tell me what you think? :thumb:
evil_genius_180: Thanx, and I was never afraid of interiors until it come down to the lighting.
Elowan: Thanx, it's one of mine too. But now the bad news, the hard drive in my old HP the one with the yellow ship, along with many others died in the second week of August. It had been giving me the signs of its imminent demise for the past couple years. But like the trooper that it was, it held on for me for as long as it could. However, it just so happens that this was long enough for me to back-up all of my most recent files, including one very grimy, grungy, ugly yellow ship. Yeeeeeeeee, es! And not a day too soon, the hard drive died the very next day after I backed everything up. My luck is improving. :thumb: In any case the interiors is pretty much done, for the most part. And now I'm redoing most of the outer textures, all the big ones that is, so I'll post an update as soon as I possibly can. Haven't been able to do much in the way of fun lately, been poooowerful busy. . And again thanx for the comments. :thumb:
All right folks, here's this..... semi-organic, symbiotic, suit of armor thing I've been working on for the past three hours... It's going on a cyborg. :thumb:
here what i think :
the arms and forearms are too thin (both in comparaison with the legs and the chest)
the chest is too big and too curvy. attenuate the curves (nearly straight lines with curvy angles) and it'll look alot better.
the shoulder plate is good. you want to follow the line you started there on the chestplate. (copy the line of the pectoral muscle. torso-shoulder. yep taht one goes all the way from the plexus to the arm. that very same one that drives girls crazy )
on the back, theres that grey piece. you are blocking the omoplates with it, giving a feel of constraint.
and the last thing is the rib connection. you have a very strong angle. try to soften it a bit more.
Yeah thanx L2K, I believe you're right. And it looks as though I may have redo the upper torso, at least the chest that is, all together. For one it's a little too wide when compared to the actual width of a human's chest. As well as being a little too curvy to properly bend in with the rest of the suit. Thanx again. :thumb:
But I think I've taken care of the problem with the back though.

@ evil_genius_180: Thank you, I kind of like it detached myself as well. Appreciate it. :thumb:
All right folks, about to get back at it, but first here are a few renders I did earlier. Nothing too much, just a slight update.
EDIT: Kind of looks like mosquito from the top view.

Updates folks. Not much, as I have been sort of busy, but...

That armor looks cool so far.
Minor update folks.
Yes, you got close, but the new one looks better. They're both good, but the new one looks more smooth and refined.
@ evil_genius_180 - Thanx, and yes, it is quite a bit more refined. Hard to believe it's only 8996 polys.

rest is very good
