I liked it better when you had the large cannons on the 'wings'.

I just don't think they fitted the style of this ship.

great one ... only critique I have the panel lines are a bit big IMHO ... this is a large ship so I think the panellines needs to be a bit smaller ... :)

    anyway ... great stuff

    Chris :)

Great stuff indeed but I'd have to aggree with ChrisGFX, the panel lines seem a tad too big but for the rest splendid modeling. :thumb:

    Thanks ChrisGFX, kenny & Meph

I have made the gaps in the panels 50% smaller now so they now look better:D
here is a quick render of what they look like.

    Excellent!!
Only the gap in the middle is a bit strange. Why not to connect both hulls? ;)

    Nice ship Ice-Dragon.
It's more Pegasus like this time, sharp looking :thumb:.

And I second that Starship, perhaps it is that the engines are further apart then in the last one.
Or it has to do whit that extra bump in the middle of the nose, that it looks like it should be connected?

How about some extra guns on the nose part, like you did on the bottom?

But hey it's your design! :D

great work ice I must say the cygnus and the new gunstar are your best models yet. I loved the underside and the overall look is perfect the flow of the weapons with the hull and all is outstanding. I believe there's not that much else to be done but the guns on the foward area would not look bad then again they're not necessary to keep the originality of the design perfect great work ice hope to see a new model soon your modeling keeps getting better and better take care

    Thanks for the comments guy

@Starship:- I did try it out with both the hulls connected but it just didn't look right to me:D

@The Oroel Ofs:- yes the engines are a little further apart then last time but that is so you don't get cooked when trying to come in to land in the back:D

the ridge was on the old one but just no so pronounced and this time around it runs done the head as well that might be why it looks like the two hulls should be connected:D

as for an extra set of guns on the top of the head it would spoil the look of the ship besides there is an extra gun on the underside at the back that was not on the old one.

Here is a small update on my Viper MKII I think it was about time I tuched it up a little:D

Nice work m8. I hope one day I can get past making the fuselage and actually get this ship done :P

I seem to be having more difficulty with modeling than I thought I would. So right now I'm focusing on animation.

Did you model the cockpit also?
  • kennykenny0 Posts: 0Member
WOW!, I really love the way you've managed to have a shinning affect on the viper's engines..Sweet..:thumb:

    Thanks kenny & Adalla

@ Adalla:- yes I did, not a very good one tho. I'll post a render of it up as soon as I can:D

I was going to start something new but instead I went back to start finishing off my Colonial Defender model.

    Thanks mate

It's not bad for only 46k polys
  • Cyba_stormCyba_storm171 Posts: 0Member
46,000 polys for an entire ship. I wish.

The 2 engine stacks on my defender come in at over 48000. The whole thing is over 130,000, and I have barely started.
  • Ice-DragonIce-Dragon0 Posts: 0Member
Hi Cyba_storm could you post up a pic of what you've done on your Defender as I would like to see it:D
