Started the Thunderhawk Transporter (pic below) for something new to show, ... While I do some finishing touches to the Prometheus Modelling, along with working on the Land Raider MK II, but won't be showing any WIP pics for that, as I think one Land Raider WIP is enough from me to keep the thread varied with other vehicles, .. though will post some pics of both Land Raiders together later when modelling is done ...
The Transporter will be solely based on the ForgeWorld 'physical' model, as there are too many inconsistencies when comparing the diagrams in the Imperial Armour book with the Physical model regarding detail & structure. I'll only be referring to the book for the paintjob & markings later ...
Once I blocked out the main parts, I started detailed version of the Engine (still working on that) ... almost completed and will update the pic below when done.
Things are still a bit up in the air with RL atm ... so sorry for long delays between updates and replying to you guys, not been online alot, currently sorting out some Internet issues, but hope you like the start of the new model ....
Hey Binkerman been admiring your work for a long time it's always outstanding work too, but I do have a serious question. Are you going to do everything from 40k? As that wouldn't leave much for the rest of us would it
Don't worry about leaving long periods between updates though, as everyone has a real life that often needs to take center stage.
Thanks everyone :thumb:, ... Yeah, RL has caused my CG to move at a crawl atm, sorry, ..... but here's a small update, ... the engine modelling is done apart from some minor work where the wing intersects, ... so I've left that area blank for the minute until the wing is complete ... may show the forward wing attached to the engine for the next update .... What you see in this pic (below) is just the rough wing blockout ...
@ Hawk_Silk:
Thanks Hawk ! ... Everything from 40K ? ... ha ... Umm, .... No .... I'm just doing what's needed for scenes planned later, ...(no random stuff) ... there's too many cool things to model from 40K and can get easily distracted, .... the 40K universe can be quite overwhelming when you look at the choices and direction you want to go with it, ... Though as I mentioned a little while ago, I do have a few on a list that I want to do down the track outside of this current project, ...
For this small update I just applied a temp material to the Engine for visual interest to stand out from the clay renders, ...
Thanks very much guys !!, ... RL still sucking giant golf balls down a garden hose atm ... but here's an update ... Currently working on the forward section of the fuselage. Still a fair bit to do for the front / nose area, a few details and structure missing atm, panels still getting adjusted etc, and the actual doorway hasn't been cut yet, ... Just getting the basic details in-place, then will sort edges once I'm happy with the whole body & detail placement .... but wanted to post an update for the weekend .... and to show what stage I'm at with it .... Thought it would also be interesting to include my other WIP models for relative size to each other, .....

Thanks for the kind words there Blade :thumb:!!
@ Dr.Jones:
Ha, .. I enjoy doing the WIP pics as it's the relaxing part, ... but also just wanted to give a bit of info on this one to kick-start the first WIP, ...

*EDIT* Thunderhawk Transporter WIP 002 pic updated Post #441
Ah Thunderhawk transporter based on FW model? Did you have early xmas from Forgeworld?
I hope you will not have problem make some renders from all sides, include wings cut off, when you finish it.
Cos IAâm thinking about build few of them from plastic.
But I'm sure you had a bit more of the Bloodthirster done, or do you think sticking a blocky stand-in with a highly detailed head would look a little surreal, even for a WIP image.
Reposted Thunderhawk WIP 002 .... Just made a couple of adjustments to the forward panels (weren't quite right), and added the Inquisitorial Badges to the door & top of the Nose section, since the Transports will be used by Inquisitor Lord Hector Rex & the Grey Knights ...
Also forgot to mention that my Tempest model is still in limbo on my old PC (trapped on a Raid HDD with a dead Mobo) ... but been too busy to get back to retrieving that model, .... So I've chosen a couple of Valkyries to escort the Transports to the Drop Zone, since they can hover, holding a protective position in the air while the transports deliver the Land Raiders ... Plus I've been wanting to do one of those, so this is a good excuse, ... The Valkyries will of course be Grey Knight versions with the Markings / colour scheme (pic below) .... So this will be an upcoming model that I'm looking forward to doing in the near future ...
@ Tom Grays:
I Just work from Photo Refs Tom, .. dont own any Forgeworld physical models ... but yeah, the Transport is based off the Forgeworld one ...
@ Armondikov:
Heh, .. yeah I have done other parts for the Bloodthirster, Whip, Axe, the start of the Head etc, ... but the Legs give a good enough idea of size comparison for the WIP pic .. as I wanted the focus to be on the transport .... The Bloodthirster will be seen with more done in my 40K Creatures thread later ....

Then, if I understand you correctly, you have main shape from IA books, if you have them and details are based from photos of this resin model on FW?
How about regular Thunderhawk Gunship?

Awesome work as always Jas. Really tempts me to do a WH40k piece after my current bout of Star Wars gets rapped up.
