I wasn't going to stick with the red - it was just a random color selection. But, I think I'll keep it. AutoCAD has some astonishingly horrible colors available in the included color libraries. Maybe the next one should be hot pink and neon lime?
There's a lot of options for color in AutoCAD. There's Pantone, DIC, and RAL colorbooks, a 'true color' RGB, HSL mixer, as well as the old AutoCAD ACI color table. Then if you get into rendering (which I keep putting off) there's a bunch of color/materials options. But some of the color tables have some truly horrible colors in them.
as for the red dagger shaped one, it has come out rather nice. it certainly seems more mechanical and man made than some of your other designs, which is great. i like it's bridge and also the hexagonal panelling.
Thanks. I'm not completely clear on what this one will look like as well. It will look somewhat home-made with more weapons than most of my other ships. The pointy bit up front is the main gun, the TCC (total-conversion cannon). This ship will probably end up more odd looking than you'd prefer.
On a side note, I'd like to say that Time Warner Communications sucks. They took over my Internet/Phone provider a month ago and have shut me down (without warning) twice already. They've quietly discontinued services without any change in cost (although they're still advertising the services on the old provider's website), and the only way to contact anyone with billing problems is through phone or fax.
No email. Really. No email.
And there's more than one help center, and you can't control which one you go to, and they don't communicate with each other. So if I fax something to one (let's say, a proof of payment, maybe), my next call may go to a different center that doesn't know anything about the fax.
They're a freaking 21st century Communications Company and they use mid-20th century communications methods.
I'm sorry to hear you're having a bad time with Time Warner. They pissed me off about a decade ago, so I won't use their services. Though, it sounds like you didn't choose them, they were forced on you.
Time Warner cut me off again today. They have my name in the system now, so, now after a few minutes for them to read the record, they turn it back on.

Interesting shapes so far. The body reminds me of a stun gun.
I may have spotted a trend.

That's probably the command decks. I'm still thinking of how I want to do the windows. The hexes are probably shield emitters.

Added more stuff.

Or that.
Though, it's definitely looking more ship-ish and less like other stuff now.
