If only I had the skill, the patience and the equipment to do something like this, then I could build my original designs.
Anyway, Two thumbs up! I can't wait to see the finished product.

    Thanks!

I'm working on some of the last details, like the bridge dome etc.

oh, you're wiring it up for lights or something. very nice. amazing detail on that bridge part and the rest for that matter.

The bridge is simply stunning....and that's without any paint!
    Bravo I say!

Absolutely spot on looking work. Every shot of this makes me more and more jealous of the guy you're building this for. Looks great. How tall is that pole you currently have it mounted on? Can't wait till you light this puppy up.

Wow Sir. I would love to see a real closeup of what you did on the very top of the bridge / or is it the sensor dome. I have no photo that makes that clear enough! I'm also curious about the Egyptian stuff behind the model.

I can take some better pics tomorrow.

To say this is a thing of beauty would be a profound understatement. Quite frankly sir, this is nothing short of glorious!
  • BrandenbergBrandenberg1664 CaliforniaPosts: 1,940Member
Yeah, I'll second that!! :thumb: You do realize that you are better at this, than the original model makers, right?

The very top of the round dome. I said this before, but it looks like hamburger in the Black and white photos of the TMP model. I took a stab at it, but yours looks better. Forever grateful for a well lit photo closeup.

Ah yes! The cool part begins. Love this phase of your builds.

Love the subtle differences between the panel colours on the dome.

I want to have sex with this ship... it looks that good. :p Seriously, the intricacy of the details and the paint job is beyond outstanding.

Awesome! Loving the look of that, and the painting going on in the next few shots, beautiful attention to detail, and like how you've gone with the original model colour rather than the colour corrected grey as it appeared on screen (though I do personally prefer it in grey it is good to see such attention paid to authenticity).

The level of detail is insane. Many may think they like the refit better, but really, isn't this actually everyone's fav?

In TOS ST, we had great overall shapes. In Star Wars, the overall shape was simple but superdetailed.
    K't'inga has both.

A couple of physical effects that might interest you:
    http://io9.com/5978592/these-liquid-jets-arent-what-they-seem?tag=physics
    Toho superweapon look
    http://io9.com/5978744/a-prism-that-shoots-concentrated-beams-of-rainbows?tag=physics

The liquid spray might make for an alternative lighting/weapon effect, especially if flammable liquids are used in metal models.

With putting actual lasers in models--well--that can be problematic--but if you have a model as squirt gun, you just shine a laser through the base and no longer need a smoky room to see a beam/jet espressed from the ship--than can be filled with liquid to fill out light perhaps.
