Please tell me I'm not the only one who thinks it would be cool if they released a special edition of this episode with some of the actors at their current ages edited into the original footage. For example keep the original Q and Data, but then reinsert Picard, Worf, Riker, etc.
It would certainly be fascinating. It might require some work, since many appear together in the same shot.

What you gotta do is mash that stuff up: have the Falcon fight the klingons or fly with the Enterprise D. I know you don't do that sort of thing, but I can't be the only one who wants to see it.

Thanks.
The Falcon would be a bug compared to the Enterprise D, lol. Never really looked into the scales.
Are the only weapons on the Falcon, the guns on the top and bottom center?

You know, that "out of the exhaust" shot of the Falcon (sequence #2 in the vid) may be my favorite sfx shot in the original Star Wars. Even above the opening shot or any of the Death Star assault. It's just so different!!
However, I'm gonna be doing some TMP stuff soon, so here are a few renders of Wil Jaspers' Enterprise Refit.
I wanted to go after a really filmy look.
I had to replace all of reflection maps with the rendering engine's reflection texture, to speed up rendering with the rendering engine I use, as the default scanline reflection texture just goes on and on and the render never gets started, at least in a timely fashion.
So, by changing it to the material for the renderer I use, the renders are done much faster.
AMD Ryzen 9 5900X Gigabyte RTX 3080 Gaming OC 12GB 1TB NVMe SSD, 2 x 1GB SATA SSD, 4TB external HDD 32 GB RAM Windows 11 Pro
I did this back in 2011, but the music made it blocked in Germany, so I had to do something else this time (no music, unless someone wants to make a derivative for me ), despite putting it in the credits, have to remove that in the next WIP video...
However, this was a lot of trouble to get out of AE, which is why it's up so late... because I finally got it all rendered out, etc. but for some reason AE kept eating up memory to the point where it kept crashing, so I rendered out bits at a time to create PNG sequences.
So instead of rendering out the effects on the passes all at once, I rendered out each pass with its effects to a PNG sequence and re-imported it into AE and set the proper transfer mode.

That's one of my favorite shots from TMP, pity about the music though, as that is very much part of what makes that shot so iconic and memorable. Either way, nice job.

Agreed. I can try altering the audio a little bit, but I don't know if that'd be enough.

Hopefully this music doesn't get ID'd and subsequently blocked in certain places.
Not much progression considering the exceptionally long nature of this shot and the fact that it's length eats up my RAM and causes AE to crash, requiring me to render this shot out in sections, the first half then the second half.

Beautiful work once again Chris. I've always loved that shot where the camera moves over top of the center Klingon ship, rotates and follows it as it passes, and you nailed it.
I really don't care for the waistline of this particular model of the Alien, I prefer the more solid looking waistline of the Alien in Alien: Isolation and in the movies.

Unfortunately, this is the OBJ file, which isn't rigged. I haven't been able to get the DAE version, which is rigged, into 3ds max successfully. So it's not animated, it's a statue right now.

Finally got the Alien imported into 3ds max with bones!
Here's the static pose I made in the posing software I found before I figured out how to export it with the bones... I have full control of the model's lips, tail, jaw (inner and outer), head, etc.
It's kinda dark considering the texturing of the alien, but expect more elaborate lighting, once I get my modified textures reapplied, to really bring out the glossy look of the Alien.

This last shot has to have the most layers of any shot I've ever done and it's still not done here. lol
I also need to slow down those flames... they're just a little too fast.

Excellent job with it!
As well as the quad laser cannon the Falcon has a concussion missile launcher situated between the two mandibles at the front.
Nice work on these shots by the way.
