I recently upgraded to a larger SSD, so I've got most of my programs re-installed and I decided to punch out another WIP video. Not much is done, but then again, I haven't worked on it since Saturday, so...

Simply using the Advanced Lightning effect in AE for the discharges... I may optimize the effect a bit more, so I can control all the charges from one adjustment layer rather than duplicating the layer and adjusting the settings there... I want to increase the rate at which the discharges move around.

Slowly making progress... progress was a little slow as I kind of had a loss of interest moment and then I got a cold... I'm still kind of feeling the loss of interest... I don't feel as energized about animations as I used to... I don't know why.

Agreed. Although, the first long overhead shot will have the bright solid windows, because that took forever to render and get out of After Effects, lol.

Luckily, most of the shots from here on out are short in length and won't require 3 renders of the Klingon ship in each shot, so they'll be quicker to complete.

The pattern in the rear of the torpedo tube is based on Japetus' torpedo tube texture for his Kronos One model. Which I hope to actually make some animations with, if my computer stops giving me trouble... I think my new SSD might be a lemon in the making... but I don't know yet.

I wonder if it woudln't be a good idea to have the torpedo-ports on all vessels go red (i.e. ready) when seen in the frontal approach, instead of just one. Considering that they're a warlike race, I doubt that just one would go battle-ready when facing an unknown, and thus for the Klingons possibly lethal force....

Before I rule it being an SSD issue, I plan to replace the SATA cable to see if that's just what's causing it... then if necessary, redo Windows... and if after doing that, I still get it, I'm ruling it being this new SSD, if that's the case, I'll be off for a while while I wait on the new SSD to get here.

Made some adjustments on the bussard texture, so the blinks seem to illuminate the dome.

I think I need to bring the depth-of-field down a little bit...

I'm probably going to speed up the movements in the shot starting at 12 seconds... and the V'Ger Plasma weapon is still very much a WIP...
