    Wow !
    According to the book, Technical Manual Enterprise D, these are connections for supply hoses.

    Indeed it is!

    Fleshed it out a bit more, arguably more detailed than it needs to to be but ah well.

    I always do the same thing, and end up spending way too much time on small details lol. But it does make the model that much better!

    Also, how are you able to map textures panels so perfectly with the grid lines? I always struggle getting fine control over textured paneling to get it aligned how I want

    I cut the grid lines first with the seperated to a seperate object. Then I just selected the panels between and did a projection unwrap on them.

    No such thing as more detailed than it needs to be, lol. Great work.

    awesome as usual.... although I'd have to say I'd be tempted to have more light on the underside of the ship.... go for the more studio lit model look.. well that and the planet is lit from the bottom right ;) Plus I think you've put way too much detail into her to mostly have her in shadow :)

    You're right, I'd lit for the bounce off the planet more than the sun, which was a bit silly, this is better imo:

    [edit] switched the image out for one with a subtle green light added on top of the saucer to simulate the bounce off the planet.

    i like the first one myself as that lighting feels more real/warm to me even tho the sunlight is coming from the bottom right, great work dude!

    Everyone's opinion is valid, that's why I post here! There is something nice about the lighting in that first one I agree, the second one is maybe a bit 'busy' lighting wise. I revisited the first one and tried a bit harder:

    The yellow complements the blue and green very well ;)

    Secondary hull underside windows all cut today. Next step is panel lines I guess.

    It just might be the angle, but the engineering section edge (deck 34) looks a bit to flat or expansive.

    Weird angle making the back of the ship look odd I think;

    This is the slope I meant, I looks too flat or inward to me.

    Ahh, it might be slightly out from the model because the deck there is kinda squished on the filming model. I'd did make mine so there's proper deck layout. I'm well past being able to modify that part anyway :)

    It was clocked. Otherwise how does it become a penal colony in Voyager. (That was where Tom Paris was doing his time.)
