I find it very challenging to come up with a design from scratch so I'm hoping it will get easier as I do more of it.
I also learned a lot in MAX building this ship - I mastered the edit poly modifier among others - it is da bomb!
A quick test render with a basic lighting rig (one sky light at .25 and one spot light at 1.0). Still lots to do with lights, textures and possibly a little more modeling.
Okay, I just finished adding the new battle carrier into my book cover. It looks so much better than the first rendition I think. I am very happy with this version. Now I can get back to the publishing process.
