Another touch... we added a traditional piece to keep with the Arthurian deco we have going with the whole ship and it looks perfect! This is starting to have the classy feel of a medieval royal meeting hall.
You know... now all we need are some elegantly placed shields on the blank wall areas on the sides of the room. Hmmm...

Well, that is in the Main Security Office... our 2nd Officer/Security Chief is somewhat of a collector.
I caught that model of the "Galactica" as well, but I don't think it's really the Galactica. I tried to find it, but it seems to be erased, bu there was a thread around here where someone combined the designs of BSG and ST together to create a battlestar styled trek ship. I'm thinking that may be what that is, a prototype that is in use by the branch of the federation to which the Grandeur belongs.
What vessel is that under the Sovy and to the left of the Prometheus?
That looks like Hobbes' old Diligent class. Haven't seen that baby for ages!
BTW: I kinda like the Saber variant in the top left corner. The mission pod adds the balance that was missing from the design (e.g., when seen head-on).
Here's a second pic 36 hours later showing a more natural appearance for the square shields.
We also swapped out the crossed spears for crossed claymores, and began tweaking the lighting...
Starship Grandeur does not have a shuttle-bay like Trek fans are accustomed to seeing. We have more of a landing/launching bay like a Battlestar does. In addition to the standard shuttle and utility compliment on board, we have a squadron of MACO marine fighters that are stored in "garages" along the walls.
Here's a sneak-peek at our shuttle hanger just to wet your whistle. We will be getting to this more specifically somewhere down the road after we complete the more important rooms. In this first shot we see our lead "first responder fighter", the Screaming-eagle (Banzai class), launching to the rescue.

Something like this edit here...
And I wanted to see this too, even though it is missing the aft parts of the ship that would actually be visable from this angle.
Makes a great place to ponder, huh?
:thumb: Must Love BSG! :thumb:
Why yellow light in there room. That could be white light on. That is so nice room.
Personally, I like the gold light, it's different then white.
Another small update with the start of the suggested shield-work.

there was a request of a good friend for a BSG type Star Trek carrier ship and i did the MSD some years ago. here is the USS Independence.
sorry commander, don't intend to hiijack this thread......
But no... it's not a Trek-ized Battlestar. It's actually the Galactica from Blood And Chrome!
Gotta Love BSG!!

Now here's a little more progress on the shields...
