Damn don't give him ideas or we will have to wait another year for it
Seriously , it's looking great but I can't wait to see the entire ship ! It will be SICK
Awesome as always ! :thumb:
I have just one question : are all the panels raised a bit above the hull ? I have a strange feeling that they're floating at one milimeter

To no one's surprise (not those of us who know your other work), this is coming along beautifully. It's been a while since I checked my refs of the large ANH model versus the TESB model, but this looks like you are working from the larger version. Am I right?

Welcome back ... good to see you you posting again
yes ... I'm trying to make a digital replica of the 5feet TESB / ROTJ Millennium Falcon. The ANH one didn't had the landing gear boxes left and right at the front.
btw ... are you still working on your Stardestroyer?
The link in your signature to the ref photos ... most of them are dead
I haven't worked on the ISD for several months, as I've been focusing on songwriting in my spare time (e.g. the 30 seconds that my wife, my kids, and my job don't already own). I do plan to get back to it, it's just hard to set something aside and not come back wanting to scrap it and start over.
Outstanding Chris, not sure how I missed these updates ( hangs head in shame ) it's good to see your sticking with this, I look forward to seeing the next update:)
Here comes the next update. I have finished the details at the back of the bottom. I have started to build the landing gear too. The landing gear is based on the blueprints for the 1:1 Falcon Parts they have in ANH and TESB. There is a different landing gear they made for the 32" Falcon but I liked the ANH more.

I'm sorry to tell you the most of the other links are dead ...
Not that it has any real relevance to the accuracy of the parts, but the set prop Falcon was only about 1/2 to 3/4 scale, as you can see in the ESB Echo Base scene comparing the interior and exterior shots of Chewie in the cockpit when whatever Han is working on short circuits.

The AtAt goes to a Y-Wing previewpage but no photos found there.
Maybe they can repair it because its a great resource site.

Yikes, I see what you mean. if I get a sec (and I remember to do it), I'll contact the guys at 3DSciFi to see what's up. Keep plugging away on the Falcon, man, it's progressing nicely.
Incidentally, what are you using for refs of the underside, just screen caps from TESB and ROTJ? I've never seen any still shots of the TESB model that showed much of the underside.

I'm using your ref photos and some more I found in Internet. Some photos I got from some nice ppl who made photos at the exhibitions. My ref folder is about 1 GB now but I still need photos from some parts ...

Seriously? I just loaded the page from the link. Here's a direct link to the index page for the Falcon: http://www.3dscifi.com/reference/starwars/MilleniumFalcon/index.html

I'm not sure about the complete Falcon ... as far as I know they made a 1:1 for TESB. Its only the landing gear I have used from this BPs:
http://www.etsy.com/listing/62739566/millennium-falcon-landing-gear-vintage
The Falcon is based on the 5ft model the have used in TESB and ROTJ.
Chris
Yes, textures will be made too
