^ Stormtrooper, Mandalorian, Republic Trooper, Iron Man/War Machine, that Cyber Ninja from MGS, John 117, Cobra Techno-Viper, Ultra Man... an original Cylon. Take your pick, he looks like he could resemble any of them in one way or other. Hell, one while he started to look like a flipp'in Power Ranger to me. I had to put a stop to that.
Thank you somacruz145, appreciate it. And nothing too much is going to get done with all until I get my new computer(s). I decided to build it/them, and now I see most of the parts I wan are on sale. Thanx again. :thumb:
In this image, they do look very Stomtrooper-ish. I think it's the color (white) of the armor though. In any case, how my lighting? I've been having trouble with it, and it still looks funny IMO. I gotto texture that corridor... too plain and too jagged.
BTW, they're not finished, still a lot to do to them.
No, there are shadows in the image LockeFP, they're just really very light. And thanx.
With this one I was trying to go for the look of a very tough interplanetary, sub-light, passenger-freighter (or maybe a prison transport), that for whatever reason, was "accelerated" to above light speeds. And after decelerating several light-years away from the Sol system, passes through a dense asteroid field, and eventually crash lands on a semi-Earth-like planet. Only to be found several decades later by an interstellar mining (survey) ship. The ship (the derelict), was completely covered by volcanic ash shortly after it's crash, but was recently unearthed as the result of a massive mudslide, brought on by heavy torrential rains.
Maybe I should make the mud a grayer color, since it ash-mud.
I found an old model on my computer last night that I never really got too far on, it was supposed top be a shuttle. Well in any case, I turned it backwards and started adding stuff to it.
The asteroid moon is FREAKY! Looks a bit too close to actually be in orbit. Either that or it's nearly the size of a planet. If it is supposed to be the size of a planet, it should have a bit smoother scarring (just to give a sense of scale) as well as its own small atmosphere. There isn't a planet in our star system that is that big and doesn't have some sort of atmosphere. If you just want a small asteroid moon, shrink that to around 10% of its current size.
The last image in the set above is great. Perfect permafrost area, but the ice itself looks a bit too edged up. Maybe a few puddles here and there, or perhaps a thinner and more bled out edge? Not sure if that makes much sense . . .
Thanx dudes, appreciate it. the asteroid and the planet are both moons of a larger gas giant; like Endor and Pandora. The asteroid is actually three times the size of the planet-moon -- 1 moment...
Was extremely bored today, so I started playing around with vue, and now, I'm back on that "Ugly Yellow Ship" of mine. Should be finished with the upgrades pretty soon. :thumb:
And in case you're wondering what that thing in the water is, well it's an Oliff Anirike Light-Combat-Frigate. In other words it belongs with the insect guy, stingray-looking fighter, and the big ship with the purple glowies and spikes; that are seen earlier in this thread. Here's a better look.
Thank you Lizzy777 appreciate it. Still a lot to do to it first, before texturing and all. For on I have to go back and redo the fireplace utensils. Not happy with them things at all. Thanx again. :thumb:
looks good.
a few observations:
the fire tools are way too thin.
a black object is never black, but dark grey. so we can see the shadow on it, and it doesnt look so flat.
real life is never parallel and 90A° angles. dont be afraid of the chaos.
angles always need bevel. even the planks of the floor
thats all i'm thinking of right now.
hope it helps
Thank you L2K, appreciate the C&C as always. And I'll upload the updated images in a few days, haven't done to much to it in the last week or so, but will get back to it in a day or two. Got myself sick. However, in my afflicted state I was able to hammer this out.

Thanks LockeFP, appreciate it much. :thumb:

Here's the wreck in all its pre-textured glory.

A desk...
ALSO: I need to adjust the shaders on the chairs, they look like three big, black blobs.
full size test render can be found here.
