She really does well in the polys considering the details you have got in there. Are there landing struts, ramp, etc, or just what is in your last images.

Amazingly accurate work and well done Chris.
thank you for the kind words
I'm working on the ramp right now so expect some updates soon
after that I'll put in a Cockpit but not every botton and such ... chairs and textures and some details. I'll make a HiRes Cockpit later seperately
I have started the cockpit. Since the high poly count of the falcon I decided to put in a LowRes Cockpit. I'm modeling a HiRes one and use the panel renders as textures.
Sensible idea, with all those button, switches and lights that would put the poly's up a considerable amount.
yes thats the problem ... the sidewalls with all knots and button has a polycount of over 1.5 Mio polys. With all backwall details and the console it would be over 2.5 Mio polys and that would make the model unuseable for my PC
You never see the cockpit in full res so the texture way is the best here
...
here the latest progress on the Falcon ... modeling is done! yeepeee!
I know there are some details missing here and there ... I'll add them while cleaning the mesh and preparing for UV mapping.
It looks awesome. As far as I can see, there's nothing missing. But then, I haven't studied this design in great detail, I just love it as a whole.
not much missing ... when you're working over 3 years on a model like this (2 years in research and 1 and a half year modeling) you know about every part of it LOL

thank you!
thank you!
I've started this project back in November 2014
I'm at about 3.25 Mio polys now
Amazingly accurate work and well done Chris.

yes thats a good question. I did a "real" looking cockpit so I decided to put the glas in like they did with the TFA Falcon
I'm working hard on the UVs but as of the tons of details it takes its time
I have a 'lil progress here.

Are you going to add two more seats in the cockpit?
thanks
yes ... Navseats will be added too
yes ... and that was only with the side panels
I keep looking at the cockpit waiting to see Han and Chewy walk in and sit down. LOL!
