Hey everyone,

long time no post here.

I've started this project some time ago. Its my 2nd version of the Millennium Falcon. This time its based on the ESB 32". I'm trying to make it as accurate as possible by rebuilding most of the original kitparts ILM has used for it in 3D.

I Hope you like it. More soon

Looks great, loving the level of detail on that back end.

Oh, and by the way you have a typo on the title for those images, you have an 'M' instead of an 'N' for the end of the word Corporation, so you might want to fix that.

Like everyone said, great job! But why exactly are you doing it? Your last Falcon already has been the best CG-version I have ever seen. No criticism, just asking out of curiosity.

Great work on the Falcon! I kind of petered out working on my 5 foot CGI Falcon. Yours is looking very much like the 32" model.

My first try on the Falcon was not bad but I did it totally wrong means it was not very accurate. That was the reason to start this one to make it better.

People always make the Falcon a lot flatter than it really is - and they always get the proportion of the cockpit wrong. This one's looking pretty accurate though.
  • TALON_UKTALON_UK2 Posts: 0Member
I think that might be due to a lot of the model kits that are out there being incorrect in that fashion and warping our perception of the ship's proportions. It is even something that annoyed me as a kid it was so noticeable. With the better reference resources we have now modellers have a much better shot at making a CGI model completely accurate to the studio models.

I've only just noticed thanks to looking at this that the engines look like they have some paddles for thrust vectoring. Is that actually right? Undoubtedly it would never have been shown on-screen at any point since it would be impractical even for a studio model.

Well i always thought your one before was pretty good. I see Andy Crook on F3D is having a go at updating his. With the additional touch of adding the EP VII stuff as well.

Looking good. Though, is it just me and you seem to have a slight glitch in the GI where the blue is bleeding through to give a blue shadow under those pistons?
