UPDATE...
I did’t get a chance to update last night so here it is. The last of the updates on this this ship for this month. Next month it’s back to my ALT-TOS.
Not much done just chamfering edges and cutting down on the amount of objects. I have started to work on the big guns for this thing.
I have started to add detail to the bottom of the ship.
This it to show scale with Space one. Both these ships serve the same purpose.
UPDATE...
I rebuilt the bottom to add more segments. Now that I have a good computer I can do that.
I also added details to the bottom including the antenas I made for my space 1 ship. I had to increase the size of them by a bunch.
I’ve also added the top. I decided to do away with the big blue glowy thing since it was kind of in the way of ships docking inside.
UPDATE...
Decided to shake out a few cobwebs and start on a simple earth utility vehicle. I know it looks like a work bee from Star Trek but I got the idea while playing GTV. I climbed up a construction crane and tried to get into the control cabin but could’t.
The cargo will be held in by either straps or a tarp. It will also have detachable manipulater arms.
UPDATE...
Gotta say the back end of this this is starting to come together. Looked at a couple pictures of utility trucks and decided to add a place to hold tools and such on the sides.
I’m seriously thinking about making those floor panels out of wood but I don’t think that would work too well in space.
UPDATE...
I’ve got a few more bits added to the bed of this vehicle. A few more details to the doors and a bit of stuff to the inside. I’ve added a few more hand holds and I think all those will divits will work as a reaction control system. I’ve also started on an idea for a locking mechanism to add more beds it needed.
One more thing I just finished playing Call Of Duty:Ghosts last night. Got it on tuesday and finished on thursday. Game was ok but too short.
UPDATE...
Ok I added some stuff to the lower side of the bed.
The part back here might turn out to be a light of some kind.
And over here at the front of the bed I’ve added what will be the port used to refuel the power cells and check diagnostics and whatever other tech stuff might need to be done.
A close up. I still nedd to detail the crap out of it.
I’ve also astarted to block in shapes for the manipulator arm. I thought with it snowing now I might add a snow plow to this thing as well. You can also see the headlights on the front.
This is what I’m thinking for the door. Took me forever to figure out how to get the pivot point right.
And just for fun a little test animation of the doors opening and closing. It goes a little wonky at the end but that’s You Tube’s fault.
UPDATE...
I found a great video that showed how to UV Unwrap in pretty good detail so now I understand it a little bit better. I thought I’d try it out on one of the doors. It’s temp for now so I will probably redo them. Instead of taking weeks to do I can now do it in a few hours.
Looking great, Foz. It's really cool to have watched your skills grow over the years. This workpod looks very clean.
And thanks for posting that video, btw. I've seen a few tutorials on how to unwrap, but this is definitely the best I've come across and although I've been able to muddle by before, this taught me a bunch of tools to improve my numptie workflow that I wasn't aware of. Cheers!
And Another shot of the plug with textures since I’ve started to unwrap the bed. This was mostly a proof of concept for me. It will be clean for now.
And this is an idea for a new Earth ship. It’s a mixture of aan old ship I never finished but plan on and the Earth ships from Stargate. There are normally at least two of these ship used to escort the president’s ship.
It’s currently called the Mjolnir class.
Oh yeah, one more thing. If you play GTA5 online don't shoot me. Thank you.
regarding your workpod(space pickup truck) have you considered a version with an open cockpit, the pilot would obviously wear a pressure suit at all times. with a short range, low power purely exoatmospheric vehicle like this(i'm guessing it's used in orbital shipyards etc) it would make sense if the pilot could easily get out with an MMU type pack to manhandle the cargo wherever it needed to go when the truck is loaded and unloaded in the vacuum. more cool work on it's details, and interesting concept for the mjolnir class. like the offset bridge but some parts seem very blocky at present, you'll probably cure that as you continue working on it.

I’ve started to rebuild an old space station.
The green parts are from the original mesh.

Started to work in a few more shapes and I rebuilt the center again. Those three large globes are going to be some sort of botanical area.
Just a bit of tinkering and thought I might add this glowy bit.

I'll try out Battlefield 4 when I get the new Playstation.
some kind of astrotug or space taxi? a pick up for astronauts?
Don't get it. It's a horrible game.

Did some minor work on this thing. I made the hand rails on the side smaller. Added windows to the cab and some reaction control thrusters.
This what some other pallets might be like for moving liquids around.

I’m starting to get an idea for the inside of this thing. The chair will be remade.
I thought I’d go with carbon fiber for the bed of this thing. I’ve also started on the locking mechanism.
I finished up the details of the access box thing and mocked up how it gets plugged in. I also played a bit with optical flares.
Some minor details to the top of the cab.
UPDATE...
Here is a close up of the plug.
