That's a nice effect. It will make those flybys seem even more realistic.
Thanks.
Here's an image update, got the secondary hull done... I'm gonna render it out... and upload it to YT...
If I could think of something more abstract to do, story wise for a video, but I stick VFX recreations, because I have at least something to go on, I've never been good at story writing, lol.

Story writing is one of my passions. In fact, I'd love to write and make a CG film (at least a short one) but I'll have to learn a lot more about animation first.
Rendering a few clips now, should have a compiled video up soon, finally got our old ISP (Time Warner Cable) back... our upload speed is like 4.96 Mbps and our download speed is 26 Mbps or 0.62 MB/s upload, and 3.25MB/s download speed. We went to AT&T broadband because it was cheaper, and now we know why, we only had like 6 Mbps, and that was the fastest residential speed offered in our state.

I know what you mean, I have AT&T. (but it's the less expensive 1.5 MB/s) Though, about this time last year, I upgraded to that from NetZero dialup, so it's a hell of a lot faster than that. However, it can't touch the cable speeds.

Question, on the TOS model, do all the bussard lights blink, or just certain ones?

As far as I know, they all blink. At least, that's what mine do. I don't know if anybody has ever figured it out. I'll tell you who would have a better idea than me: Tallguy or scifieric. They've both studied the TOS ship like nobody else I know.

The process of renders with the interiors being added... I still need to find a better texture, as the interior is not exactly stellar, but what can you do with a tiled image, lol.

I did the stars a different way, by using a multi-material in Max... I'll make a video showing exactly what I did, since the Video Post stars don't offer anything in terms of color variations, I piddled in the material editor, to create the starfield... it requires some tweaking, but in the end, at least for the TOS-R look, if that's what you're going for, you can get what you see here... of course, you can tweak it some more and get a more movie like look, as seen in TUC.

chris you have disabled embedding videos, either just give us a link or enable embedding, as it is right now there's no point embedding here because no one can use the player

Here is Sarod's Voyager, I've altered the deflector, warp, and bussard colors, added some glows, the light cast from the deflector is cast right from the deflector, using fR Object Light, which embeds lighting into geometry... allowing for realistic light angles, etc. for example, one could put it on the Connie Refit warp engines, and they would cast light directly from them... altering a few settings, and it could look very nice.
For some reason, Sarod's renders faster than Flat Eric's... and I'm not sure why... Sarod's has more modeled geometry...
Got it. Those two seconds seem like an eternity. (of course, it is an eternity for an android )
Seriously, I know what you're talking about. When you're rendering something, you want it NOW. Any delay, no matter how negligible, seems to take away from that.

This just a view-port preview, the Enterprise will actually be in front of the planet as she passes.
The planet is what's to be rendered, the Enterprise is inserted as the view-port background.

Hmmmm, let me try rendering his model without the textures...
Without textures, Flat Eric's renders in about 13 seconds @ 960x720, with textures, it renders at 19 seconds.
Without textures, Sarod's renders in about 16 seconds @ 960x720, with textures, it renders at 17 seconds.
Not much faster, but it seems much faster.
