All around great job on the fighter. Nice lines, looks aggressive, fast, and nimble with attention to detail that looks functional. I can easily see a pair escorting a runabout without them looking out of place.
Thanks, I have started setting up the UVs so it is getting there, I am working on the display still, and finally decided on a layout I liked.
This is it so far. Left to right will be engine, weapons, sensors, targets, shields. Then in the gaps at the top will be main hud details that will mainly be on the holographics.. similar to a planes glass cockpit backup dials.
I'm interested in the fact that your top display level has had a number of different graphics on it in different renders. All functional appearing. Are you planning to animate this and rotate the images as the pilot selects different ship's functions?
Ah, the older ones were from my engineering panel, I just cut it up to get a general layout and the sizes for the final display, and to test the UVs. But I figure like many real displays you can change the individual ones around to what you want. I was thinking the engines part wouldn't change but the three middle screens would. I won't do that on the model though.
Taking a break from trying to UV the fighter so I started the Ivalice.
Only base shapes right now. It will be slightly different from the older schematics, mainly the nacelles at the moment.
I like how she's looking, i'd be tempted to see how she looks with those pylons at a slight angle, as opposed to straight down?? but that's me hijacking your design and its got a great feel to it ...
It should be easy enough to bend the pylons out, just at the moment it is easier to model square on. The low poly ones I did angle the nacelle so I will be experimenting with that and see what looks the best.
Next time I work on it I will probably freeze the mesh and start cutting out the larger parts. Dish, sensors, shuttle bay, bridge, spine, etc.
Started back up with this ship, remade the impulse engines and started on the spine.
Holidays are almost here, so I will have some more spare time to keep working on it.
You create some of the best ship designs IMO. You always seem to have this nice blend of practicality and style.
I've wondered for a while if the Ivalice class has QSD capabilities, or just standard warp drive? Telling by her registry, I reckon she was built around the same time as the Vesta and Merian classes.
And I've never heard of Archades, and it sounds like a cool name.
I started on some materials and tried out a 3point light render.
Next will be engineering hull details and finishing off the saucer. I have been busy lately so not many updates, there is a holiday coming up soon and I will also be working on the fighter again during the time off.

Not a huge fan of the top. But it early doors, so I am looking forward to seeing where you take this.

Just a standard drive, these ships would be mostly in Federation space.
Take a look at Final Fantasy 12 for the name inspirations.
I rebuilt the secondary hull and have added more details, I will probably start detailing the saucer next or continue with the spine.
Still working on it, next will be finishing off the spine then engineering hull windows and more underside details.
All the windows minus one or two extra are in.
Shield grids on the top of the saucer and the start of the edge armour panels.

Remade pylons. They are a lot chunkier now.
