3DEnigma Class

My current project is the Enigma class that Saquist designed. He commissioned a 3D model of it, and IA’ve been working on her for the past couple of days. Now the basic shapes are all done, I can start with detailing. It is a complex shape, even further complicated due to the seperation function - but now the two parts "click" together nicely...

Oooh! Looking forward to this one. The Enigma class was one of my favorites from the STO Enterprise-F design contest.

Gee, maybe I should think about hiring you to model my Magellanic class. I'd do it myself but it might be nice to have it complete within the next decade.

Reworked the nacelle bottom elements quite a bit and finalized the nacelle and wing detail...

Another nice model. My question is..... where, oh, where do you find the time? I mean you have your work, Axanar, personal projects, real life, ect......how is this all achieved.

Another note: it is great that you are doing a few fan-made ships: gives me hope that they're a few of the more "visualy" impressive/interesting ships somewhere down the pipeline.

The modelling is top-notch, as usual, but the design is... kinda ugly.

Definitely one of my least-favorite Trek designs ever... but I'm sure it'll be well modelled.

I'm not feeling the design that much myself, but am willing to give it a chance and see what wonders Tobias can do with it, am personally loving the nose of the secondary hull when detached from the saucer, that streamline front end is really good looking and one of the few secondary hulls that doesn't look awkward without the saucer attached.

I like it a great deal. The separation mechanics feel plausible. It seem like the pylons should have a second hinge at the pylon to maintain the pylons in level orientation with the saucer. The impulse nozzle structures (almost pylons themselves) are very far cantilevered. It just feel structurally improvable. I don't have a clear sense of the lower stardrive but my first inclination is the simplify what I see. Tobias is a master and all praise to the designer. I do like it.

i would say quite the opposite, for a federation ship this is perfect. the only better trek ship designs i've seen are alien ones. i really like the more angular details than most human trek ships and the "lean forward" look gives it an agressive and eyecatching presence.

I do remember SaquistA’s original drawing. It looks interesting even in that stage.
With the help of Tobias adding details and fleshing it out, I think it might turn out really good.

I love the cranked nacelle supports. I'd like to see a slightly cranked set of cranked nacelle supports on a longer refit era hull...

Inspired work from Tobias again...I love the secondary hull, very sleek, aggressive, almost D-7 in nature. The great thing is, we will most likely see this in game at Star Trek Online...cannot wait to fly her...

Nice, liking these aft sections, and the cargo bay looks obviously inspired by the similar detail on the Excelsior. Cracking work as ever.

Big update time. I havenA’t posted a lot because I didnA’t have a lot of time in the holidays to work on the ship, also the site seemed to be down or hacked a lot. So heres a bunch of renderings of the progress IA’ve made - you can see some changes in details over time. There are still a few details missing on the upper saucer, but IA’m pretty close to finished the modelling. IA’m sure uv-mapping and texturing will be quite a challenge, too...
