Looks amazing. Hated the design but you changed my opinion when I saw your render. The only thing I would redesign would be the phaser banks. The design hasn't chanced since the Enterprise C. It's time for a revamp. What if they were integrated into the hull itself -like solar panels...
@paul01:
I'm glad you like it.
I like the phasers as they are and redoing them at the current phase would be too hard.
I managed to solve my ram problem so here's a scene built up by the parts posted above and a little "afterwork" in PS:
Damm fine scene! :thumb:
I was thinking that I saw something similar in a pocket book from 70Aâs, but my memory was just trying me... Remembering it had something with James Blish, I did a search and found the front cover IAâm refering to: http://goodcomics.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/diary23.jpg Appart from the general schema (maybe it isnAât the right word....) yours is totally different.
But would be cool to see your Enterprise and crew posed as the old one too.
cool render, though there is something about the haze that looks right, yet wrong, at the same time. the cave/tunnel in that asteroid must be huge, but the shot has a great composition. by the way what is making the crystals glow?
It's a really nice layout, but I would recommend taking another stab at the lighting. I think the big thing catching my eye is that there seems to be a light source coming from camera. IMagine if, instead, you had a light coming from outside of the asteroid. The inside is dark, nearly black, except around the cyrstals. The ship is half in light, but also filled in by its running lights. Then you've got the bg lit like it is now. It's called light-on-dark and this is one of those scenes where it could be used very nicely!
I have to admit this scene stuff is very new to me and I'm owning to a lack of experience in making photorealistic pics. But this is my first -we can say- "artwork". Hope the next one would be more realistic.
@NanoGator:
Actually I tried that method you mentioned but I wasn't satisfied with the result. If I make the whole cave darker including ship, the scene itself would be the point not the ship.
@CaptainRoop, komaro:
Thanks!
Here's another scene of Odyssey. Also made by using that items posted above:

To be clear, my comment about it looking painted was not by any means a negative. I love the painted look.
I have to say. A really great job. I am very excited.
Is it perhaps possible that you tell me how can I get the blueprints?
Where did you get the data found?
Thanks for the inspiration
These were the only blueprints I could use, plus I was playing STO a lot in that time, so I took several screenies (around 30-40) in game and use them as detail reference and for the difficult parts like the cradle and deceptive intersections on the sec hull.
Actually my Osy is a modification of the original design, but since I redoed all the meshes after finishing this one, that is closer to the basic shape from all aspect.

Thanks bud! You're not far from the truth because this pic, I posted, gonna have an "oldschool" paintwork too:)

Redoed the first scene attempt to make it more like photorealistic:

Thanks, I'm glad it inspires you!
Well, I found this on the web:
http://jetblack.thebebop.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/Odyssey_class_multiple_angles.jpg
and this is for the cradle:

Hope it helps.
I try to get my own blueprints by screenshot from STO.
But hat doesnAât work.
Thanks
Whoa! You're the original creator?!
Dude! I love your Odyssey design! I even made a LEGO moc up a few years ago, along with the Dedication Class:
