    Both the font and the reg have been changed:)
    @Beda of Borg:
    PLS tell me you would release it for public use
    Sorry Borg bud, but I wouldn't release the mesh.
    I finished the Queen, only the scene remains but that gonna take some time.
    I changed all lights and added some extra details. Also made 4 high res screenies:

    ps: The uploaded pics' got lower resolution than the source. Dunno why.

    please do an orthographic view
  • SchmidtFGSchmidtFG210 Posts: 203Member
    @admiral:
    Here it goes. Presume for LCARs.
    Anyway, I sent back your pm but you didn't answer, thought you don't need that anymore. That's why no orthos have been made yet. It's a .png format to avoid erasing background around the ship.

    I like it! the one thing that looks off to me is the fact that all the windows are lit. Having some rooms unlit would, I think, add a level of realism. Even the Enterprise D in TNG had unlit windows, one of the things I always liked about it and other trek ships. It's details like that that can go unnoticed, but help to make it look realistic.

    This is a great build of Adam's Enterprise. I played with a background for fun. Enjoy.

    She came out great. :D

    You exceeded the attachment size limit, so the forum resized them to fit. That's why I rarely upload anything here.

    What I like about the details of the texturing...the windows are kept away from the vital systems and for the first time windows aren't the predominant feature...

    and GOOD GRIEF...finally someone puts the Federation logo on the Star Fleet ship....

    I know there are alot of people who are not fans of this design but I love it. If it was a model kit I would happily buy it.
    Well done VNM51.

    All of the ships in Star Trek Online have that. Unless you're in a fleet, then you can decide if you want the Fed logo or your fleet logo on there. Personally, it's something I'd like to have seen done in canon Trek.

    I love the curves here and modeling work is really great :D

    Though, I have some suggestion below (PS -sry that I had to butcher your image). I know that this is from STO, however, in my opinion it strained just to far what I would consider ST (federation) design. Arrow like design is just too aggressive for anything that federation stands for (benevolent community of planets and myriad of species) and it got out of the control since VOY and the E from the TNG movies. :( anyway, just my suggestion to get out of the box ;)

    Attachment not found.

    I can tell you my original idea for the saucer was more like this, but Cryptic went with a more arrow head design. This is more to my original vision.

    The only physical model I've seen so far is this:

    It is made of stone as far as I know but haven't found model kit as well.

    You exceeded the attachment size limit
    That explains many things... Can you tell me what the size limit is?

    @Saquist:

    Mrmgvhfhg... I knew I forget something but didn't know what...:argh:
    Ship windows are our best friend. Jeez...It's not true of course but they deserve details.
    But my next ship will be a flying u-boat with zero windows....

    @Dark Saber:
    Great work!

    @VALKYRIE013:
    I remembered that you made an interior asset for the Vesta and sent me a link. Thanks to you making mine was quick:)

    Hello Adam!
    Good to see the original author of the Queen! Welcome here:).
    so cool to see the big girl in a High poly mesh
    I do my best, she's a real challenge!

    Okay, I added "a couple of" corridor to the model, they were cloned from the mesh. Well, that was fun..... Also made a gas giant in ps and and a background for 2D scene.
    Total:
    Polys: 335865;
    Verts: 515530;
    26 different textures;
    526 parts;

    Turned up what I need:
    More RAMs, a totaly new nerveus system (thanks to the corridors)...
    Pics below, scene in progress.

    488.3 KB. Not that large when it comes to CGI renders. I frequently make images over 1 MB. Older versions of vbulletin wouldn't even let you upload the images, newer versions just compress the crap out of them.

    Also, you have an account limit of 28.61 MB total in attachments. I don't know if the forum takes that into account and squishes them down further.

    Personally, I use my WordPress account to host my images, even ones that I'm not putting into a blog post. Not only does that allow me to share them with multiple forums without having to upload them everywhere, but it also stops them from being compressed. Prior to starting my blog, I used to use hosting sites like Photobucket, back before they became big ad whores.

    Never imagined the "F" would look so beautifull. You did a great job. :thumb:

    Pssst: you forgot to add the "F" after the name Enterprise... Look at the sec hull. ;)

    A bit oldschool isn't it?:)

    @Starship:
    you forgot to add the "F" after the name Enterprise
    I checked this at several sites, some articles mention "F" after the name but usually registry got this.
    As NCC-1701 contains "F" on my model I saw no point add this to the name on the sec hull.
    (NCC-1701-F, Enterprise-F would be a bit weird looking:))

    The only thing that is a nit pick on my end is the dual running lights on the engineering hull. I feel is should be a single light that is either ambiguous or has an origin point at the front and spills aft.

    Now you mention I don't remember why put two rows of light to the engineering hull. I might saw somewhere when I was searching for screenies of the ship.
    Yeah, one row will do.

    I would like to see one where the ring slid out from around the engineering hull, with a circular section remaining attached to the saucer...

    I think you mean like the idea that was thrown around about the separation that was on the TrekBBS, that I can't take credit for but I did this prelim elevation for.

    Made several basics in 3d like asteroids, planets, crystals, ...etc for the scene.
    The Odyssey will be placed in the cave just have to find out how.
    Here's the current progress:
