The shuttle looks excellent in that scene ... I like it ! :thumb: ..... Makes all the modelling time & effort worthwhile, when you see a scene like this, ... Though to me, the image itself is over-saturated, and the sharpness is a bit harsh, causing the front of the wing edges on the shuttle to look rather nasty.
Regardless of image quality, ... Great job guys !
My only comment would be that the basic gray texture seems unaffected by the actual, 3D modeled greebles that the hull has… But I think that might be too nit-picky.

Thank you for your comment ... and yes I know what you mean. The texture is stil a WIP I'm working on the colour scheme right now so no dirtmap and much details right now
Terrific as always Chris! Are you going for the look of the original 1/24 models or the larger (unused) 1/12 ROTJ model?
thanks
yes and no ... the original 1/24 models are handpainted so the 1/12 model. My base model of the X-Wing is a Hero Mix of the 1/24 models. We all know every X-Wing is different
I'm trying to let it look more "real" with my textures. I'm using photos for the textures mainly and its a mix of many layers to get this effect.
A very minor comment is that texture on the recessed part on the lower part of the fuselage (just below/in front of the cockpit) looks a bit dark, hiding the geometry and making it look almost like a "texture only" detail.
Here is a 'lil update. I've finished UV mapping the wings and engines. They all have the same texturemap right now but I'll change that soon so each wing has its own texture map.

I'm sorry ...
maybe this one works better?
