Wow, I had never seen that technique before... it looks complicated.
I have an aztec pattern that I built out of scans from one of my decal sheets that I had for my 1:350 refit enterprise model... I put them together and cleaned them up, and on top, I've added several layers of different colored cubes to break up the pattern a little. I even have color in my spec maps this time, thanks to you.
Yeah, the technique on Meshweaver is more complicated as it looks like. I've tried it, till I saw at the end, that the outer lines will always come out blurry, if you don't start with a 4k tile.
Scanning decal sheets is another great idea. I simply cutted the aztec pattern into a 90A° section of a dish and rendered it.
I have been thinking about it... I'm definitely doing the Hammond at some point... and the Ori ships were cool. I'll have to figure out how to do the glowing energy ball thing in the middle, first.
I did model a Prometheus class, once, that I ended up naming Enterprise.
I hope the deflector is still a WIP... just saying, it's not all blue, I think the brightness of the arrays illuminate the dish, and makes it appear that way...

Very nice! Definitely an improvement. I do a have a few nitpicks though. The registry on the nacelles, shuttlebay lip and beneath the engineering hull should be a different typeface. Try using the font called "Fear Factor" from dafont.com. It's very close to the one from the movie. Also, the aft section of the neck should be a bit more rounder. Right now, it is a bit squarish.
Yeah, the nitpicks you point out are some of the things I can never get quite right... I'll probably leave it like it is. Thanks for the tip about the font, though... I might change that, since it should be pretty easy.
Did a mockup, to see how it's going to look when it's finished... trying to emulate the best.
I just about made my deadline... all I have left to do is add a few nav lights, and tweak the lights on a few parts... mainly the back of the nacelles.

What was your way to make the aztec pattern? The Meshweaver's way or another?

I've a few problems to fix, but I think it's coming along pretty good.
What do ya'll think?

Anthsco, I said the same thing myself several years ago, and decided that I was going to do it, if I wasn't good at it or not. You ought to start.
Great job! :thumb:
I guess I should come up with something more original for my next project, huh?

It does look to me, like the actual surface is blue, though.
Yea, maybe an offset of navy blue, maybe a little more sky bluish...

I hope to have the rest of the textures done this afternoon, so I can start adding lights.
Have fun, guys...
