Alright, so I haven't worked on the nacelles at all. Seems like I'm avoiding them lol. Anyway, was experimenting with some techniques that FarShot recommended. Came up with some meshing for the nacelle pylons and trying something with the torpedo launcher. Let me know what you think.
So, I took a few days to do some refinements. I worked on the saucer. And started booleaning pieces together. Most of the basics are in place.
I'm trying to decide what to do with these greebles. They're low poly, so I'll need to redo them, if I want to get them higher quality, unless someone knows of a trick that I can use without having to start from scratch?
Thanks Viper! This is a huge. Being able to see it makes sooo much sense. I think what I might do is delete the polies in place right now, and create a plane, like you recommended. Would certainly be easier than boolean!
Holy Jesus! Sean, these look f****ing amazing man! Like, they look like REAL sets. I can literally picture the crew suddenly appearing around the corners, going about their duties. "Learned a few things" you say? Looks like you've learned to be a top-rated CGI artist. CBS/Paramount needs to hire you to do all future Star Trek sets. Brother, these are bloody brilliant. Congratulations on a JAW-DROPPINGly beautiful set!
