Didn't Hamil voice the Joker in the Batman cartoons series? I don't recall watching much of it.
Yes, he did. He did a fantastic job, I have the series on DVD. He was still doing the Joker in games until a few years ago. I think the Arkham series of games was his last outing as the Joker. Also, if you've ever played the game X2: Wolverine's Revenve, Hamil was Logan/Wolverine in that. Like the Joker voice he did, it sounded nothing like he normally does and the two characters didn't sound similar either. He's an excellent voice actor. Plus, since he's not in front of the camera, people don't go "look, it's Luke Skywalker!"
The Killing Joke is awesome, I have the comic. It's by far one of the best Joker stories ever written, so I understand Mark's position on that one. If they ever do a DTV movie of it (that's likely how it would be done) I'll buy it.

I wonder what a live-action feature directed by Chris Nolan would look like?
I've decided that I want to tackle a canon ST ship. I used GIMP to separate out the ortho's I have for reference. The UI on that program is appalling. Still, here's your sneak peak:
I was meaning the back of the saucer, where the RCS is on the studio model. Though the connection to the secondary hull looks as though that should be smooth as well. Going to need to figure that out.
Yeah, you're using the actual model renders that Doug Drexler posted on his blog ages ago. Those the best references available for this ship.
For the curve, the only thing I can think of is to "relax it out" as you go towards the top. I've used this before with some success, and it may even be what they did in Lightwave XX years ago. (or, they may have even used a totally different method) Basically, the red line represents what I'm talking about. Though, before making such a drastic change to your base mesh, I'd recommend making a copy of your file.
It's a shame that his blog isn't going anymore. I also have ortho's of the Nemesis CGI model for the Ent E, so gotta give that a go some day. She is my favourite Enterprise.
I've tried what you've suggested. I may have to give it another go with a wider gap between the points, and maybe get rid of the loop in between. As someone who is rather indecisive and opposed to change, I save every time I do something.
Uhhmmm.... Just gonna lave this one here as well, then.
The idea here was to do a one week project, see how far I could get. No intent on fitting it in canon or anything, just an art project. Unfortunate, the 'verse had other notions so I didn't get quite as much time to spend on it as I'd hoped. Going to spend more time on this one, though.
Some part are still rough, you can probably tell where. Shuttle bay area needs reshaping as well. Clearly the NX class was an influence, so I'd see if there was a "canon" version of this ship, it'd be a 3 or 4 hundred series.

Anyhow, moving on:

Here's how mine looks.

In other news, new mesh! xD
About 380m long and 22 decks at a height of 3.5m each. Given that I pretty much eyeballed the whole thing, I'm rather impressed, lol.
