I don't think that doing bolts for the rails is a good idea Well, it is if you have some tech from 22nd century ... otherwise I guess your PC will blow up before you go to the main bridge tower
But I'm hoping for the best (that you finish the model). It looks really cool so far and I just can't imagine seeing this one not finished. Keep up the great work !
Wow...how big is this thing? It seems to be much larger than the Venator- and Imperator-class Stardestroyers. Oh, and will there be a mirror station on the other side of the bridge tower? Just curious...
From what she described about the ship. It is supposed to exist in a alternate timeline, where the Republic didn't change into the First Galactic Empire. As such many of the imperial designs that came after the rise of the empire don't exist or may do exist but carry republican design features and are designed differently or retain designs held over from the Clone Wars.
That means there is probably no Imperator Class Star Destroyer the Victory is most likely its opposite in this timeline.
Hey if you like do a comparrison of your Victory with a traditional stardestroyer. that way people can see the differences better.
Jade nice Star Destroyer, the Venerator was in my opinion one of the better attempts at making the prequel ships look older then the original three movies. Plus i liked the Ven's design in its own right. That said your Victory looks even nicer and a good follow on to the Venerator. Are you planning on doing a series of Alternate Republican designs?
I was mearly saying out loud from what I can tell from the ship and the background history. Its just likely that in its timeline there is no Imperator Stardestroyer. The Victory is the stardestroyer.
Anyway. Lets see about size..
The ship is clearly a upgunned version of the venerator. Has more guns near the front, its defiently a upgraded version of a existing design (venerator again) She has a large hanger just like the Venerator so she must have a impressive cargo carrying capacity for a ship of her class. She is much bigger then the venerators, and those ships were near the size of the star destroyer. I would say she is the same size as the conventional stardestroyer if not a couple meters bigger, making her a impressive warship. The tail also would add to the length of the ship considerably,
How big is the Victory by the way? that can give us a good idea and do a size comparrison with the Imperator star destroyer.
The Venator Class is 1,137m long, the Victory-1 Class is 900m long (Original design), and the Imperator Class is 1,600m long.
That is some amazing detail there. I love it. Though I do have to agree that the thrusters are a bit fat. Perhaps make them longer to go with the long tail section more?
Actually, this Victory measures out to be considerably larger than an Imperator-class Star Destroyer. She's actually more in the Super Star Destroyer range, something along the lines of 14000 meters.
I might have gotten the scaling a bit wrong with the biped I used; I was scaling him with the windows designs I was planning on using; there's only going to be one Fire-Control Tower too. The actual length was supposed to be something around 1,800m [including the tail].

You're right There's no Empire and no Imperator- class where she comes from. While I wouldn't say she's equal to the Imperator, in relation to the specs I gave her for my story the two excell in different areas.
She's a completely different ship to the Venator- class as well, but still follows the same design style/principles as the ships before it [Like the Enterprise for example].

I have the designs for a few of her support craft in mind; fighters, gunships [not LAATs], etc, but for now I'm just concentrating on the Star Destroyer itself.

I forgot to reply to the first comment about the engines ^^; Forgive me, it's been a busy few weeks for me lately.
About the 'fat' engines, those are only placeholder objects that I'm using for now; the final ones will be in proper proportion to the rest of the ship.
Hope that answers all questions so far ^^ Feel free to ask anything else and I'll do my best to answer
I'm curious, what role would this Victory fulfill? Would it still be the planetary bombardment/assault of the original?
In my opinion the only way that this Victory, while being longer than the Imperator, woud need considerably higher tech weapons and shield systems in order to meet the combat efficiency of the Imperator. This Victory looks like it has far less tonnage available.
I find myself increasingly anxious to get a peek at the weapons load outs, squadron/troop capacities and such. Would you happen to have those thought out yet?
If she is closer in design to her older sister the Venerator Class, the vessel probably has a large hanger bay and most likely relies on more fighter support then say the Imperator which used its fighters to mostly compliment its existing weapons systems. She's most likely performs the role of assualt/support ship and also a limited cap/ship/flagship role. However she most likely relies on the support of her fighters and escorts to insure its dominance in a system unlike the Imperator which has been described of pretty much controlling a system on its own without support, and is designed to be a cap/ship for ship to ship battles and plow through without support.
Thanks so much for the great feedback so far, everyone ^^ I really appreciate it!
My Victory- class is designed mainly for going head-to-head with multiple Capital ships, and to survive that encounter. Compared to the 'normal' SW universe, she is very 'primitive' in some areas while highly advanced in others, due to the way technology developed in my story's universe; most of her weapons are 'primitive' kinetic cannons, etc, while her shields and other technology are more advanced than an Imperator's.
Due to her use of kinetic weapons and secondary role as a carrier craft, she is capable of independent resource harvesting and on-board production of ammunition, replacement parts, and auxiliary craft.
foxgirljade this is a wonderful ships its been a couple of weeks since your last uptade and believe I know you're a pretty busy person but this ship its outstanding and very intresting I loved the description you provided for what he ship is all about and its kinda cool keep up the good work a whole lot of peolple is looking foward to the finished ship jejejeje have a great day
Sad to say, I'm generally just a troll here as I have not ability for this kind of work (I'm a writer, not an artist). Still, that being said, I love the ship FoxGirl and have been a fan of your work (the Infiltrator class Star Destroyer, which is incredible). I'm a big fan of the non canon but well made ships and this one is damn impressive.

And I really like this design. :thumb:

And this matters why? I was just asking about the size...I don't particularly care about timelines and such.

When will it be done?

I might be thinking of someone else though
Tolbert - Ya, they were inspired by the guns on the Vaygr Destroyer
Makes me want to make my own Star Destroyer or at least something similar. Oh wait I already did lol!!
Really though I hope to see this ship doing something in action soon. :thumb:
