So, with the lunar ship, is the whole ship supposed to be able to land on the moon and take off again? I know the moon's gravity is a fraction of the Earth's, but I don't know how feasible it is to land something like that there and then take off again.
One of the major requirements of starship is that it needs to be refueled in orbit from tanker starships before it can leave earth orbit as the Starship is essentialy the second stage and can only just get to orbit with its max payload.
So Hopefully it should have plenty of fuel to make it off the surface after landing. Also the Black Ovals in the middle are landing thrusters as one of the big problems that is constantly brought up is that the main engines (Raptors) are so powerful even when at minimum throttle that they can literaly send lunar regolith into orbit... which is a bad thing. So these engines are higher off the ground and less powerfull to minimise this.
I can see it working in 1/6th gravity but these designs are in a constant state of flux... so who knows how it will develop between now and launch.
Still not sure how the tanker version is going to work, either with more tank space eg. lifting fuel as payload or just launching a cargo style ship with no cargo thus using less fuel...
BTW. I noticed 33 engines on Heavy, the latest from Elon is 31.
Yeah, when making the layout i wasnt paying attention to the number haha just playing with it till it looked kind of right... need to go back to it and tweak it.
That spinning animation looks nice. Once you get the full hang of it, I think you'll find Blender to be a really nice and powerful program for rendering. There are lots of options to get the exact look you're going for.

Thanks mate, I have played around with Blender for years but never delved too deep into it... looking to change that.
Yeah, I've tried Blender off and on for about 10 years myself. I tend to like other software better, but Blender definitely has a lot of advantages. Even if the modeling tools don't suit you, it's definitely got a fantastic render engine, Cycles. I haven't messed with their new one (Eevee) at all. But, Cycles is probably my favorite render engine.
Did you build your own mars or is it just a background picture? ... either way ... looking really really sweet. Can’t wait, to see this become a reality

Couple of good Youtube Channels that give weekly updates on it

They did just complete a static fire on the latest prototype tank
They plan to do a 150m Hop with it soon, like this but bigger haha
Edit: Scratch the cybertruck, I saw them now.
Actually, very nice model.
Yeah forgot to add my Elon standin for scale... water deluge sytem is there but im going to make it more detailed.
I mean yeah its tall but have you ever seen someone climb up a radio tower... atleast i added a damn cage jesus. Or even a wind turbine.
Might a add a deck half way up with an entrance.
Wasn't going to add it as there could just be a staircase inside next to the elevator, but i think it gives a good sense of scale...

I beleive the idea is that the superheavy and starship can be fueled together from the bottom up.
But not sure on the starship being fueled through it tho. But there are never any umbilicals in their renders...
He looks like a piece of solid foam but for meme purposes i think its sufficient haha.
