While the forums were down I've had some time to add numerous new updates:
1. More details on the top of the saucer including bridge module shielding emitters.
2. As additional bridge in the gap between the Movie era and the TNG era a few windows have been added to the top and the bottom of the saucer section.
3. A cargobay has been added to the front of the saucer section in line with Constelletion and Oberth class designs of the time.
4. The pylons for the warp nacelles have been modified to give them a more roundish shape as opposed to the flat shape they've had before.
5. Secondary deflector emitters have been added to the saucer section in line with the Miranda class design of the time.
6. RCS thrusters.
7. Subspace communication antenna in the front part of the torpedo pod.
8. Two fins antennas as similar to the Excelsior class.
I'm currently satisfied with the shape this ship is taking. There are more details to be added but overall, it's starting to become what I envisioned it when I started working on this.
Let me know what you think...
Hi,
Some time has passed since I last updated..
The new updates consist of a few more details to the underside of the saucer, windows on the secondary hull, more details to the deflector housing and details to the back of the upper saucer.
Another update:
TMP starships didn't have visible escape pods scattered on the hull like TNG starships had. In fact, the earliest starship we see with escape pods is the Ambassador class Enterprise-C. Other than that we see a lifeboat design on the U.S.S Saratoga which is a Miranda class and a direct predecessor of this ship.
Because of that I decided to create my take on that lifeboat design and incorporate it to the hull of the Lilith. But instead of making them launch from the main shuttlebay like in the Saratoga, I've moved them another step closer to the future and spread them across the hull to move closer to the TNG future where the escape pods are scattered across the hull so everyone can reach them in time incase of a disaster.
Still, these are big lifeboats capable of carrying at least 60 people each which is far less efficient than the TNG small escape pods.
It's looking great. The textures really make it pop. The only thing I'd suggest is maybe diffuse your impulse vents a tad, to make the light spheres look a bit less sphere-ish. Just a thought.
