3DX-Wing Vs TIE Fighter....Inspired by Ralph Mcquarrie

I had always been a big fan of this image...

So I decided to make a CG render based on it, with the final movie ship designs

EDIT: Just realized when I rendered the original post, I forgot to turn the layers back on for the TIE fighter muzzle flashes on the laser cannons. Here is the actual final image.

    nice image good composition, better than original infact. won't mention my views on the lack of thrusters in star wars here.
    p.s. why is the right laser beam from the TIE fighter cutting out in mid vacuum.

    a) Because it did in the original.
    b) Tie Fighter guns always seemed to fire juuuuuuust short of truly simultaneously. :D

    Love the image and the update to the original. It's been add to the Hopper of Rotating Desktops (tm).
