Thanks!
Yeah I worked really much on her in the last weeks.
Thats because I have to mostly finish the top of the ship in the next 4-5 weeks so that I can print the poster for my intensive arts course! ...
Just calculated a bit... 7.4 million polys just for the weapons (with more new details, render will come soon)
Just set up the layout for final data sheet! (in which the bottom won't be visible... )
200x100cm with 300 dpi -> a resolution of 23619x11813px! That's ~280.000.000 pixels!!!
great shot - is there a reason why some engines are off?
Yeah - I turned them off
There's no reason why all engines should be powered all time - that only necessary for maximum acceleration.
So in that render only the 16 main engines are powered while the secondary engines in the middle (10) are idle.
Additionally there are 14 smaller engines in idle. They are support/backing engines.
Your model is really cool I wish I can make so awesome models as yours.
Do this ship has to annihilate any planet that it has to attack ? Beacuse think it can destroy Death Star within few seconds, that's so big

Didn't really thought about blowin away any planets yet
It's not thaaat big - it's slightly bigger than the SSD Executor and if you remember her size goin down on the Death Star II's surface... the Death Stars were a LOT bigger.
Most important is that this imperial ship neither has a ventilation shaft nor open service tunnels
And the shild/sensor system was redone to prevent what happened to the Executor...
New render takes loong time. Already workin for 2.5 hours and still in GI calculation
That's because I added a lot of new details to the hull
just one question:
i was wondering how this ship compares to Fractalsponge's big SSD?
Personally, i think your ship seems longer...
even if she isn't, she's definately more heavily armed:flippy::flippy:
Thanks! Yeah my ship is longer.
I think Fractal told his ship is about 9km kong. Mine was planned for ~21km, currently (accidentally) it's about 29km. I think I'll rescale it a bit.
Also I think Fractal measured the size of the ISD's turbolasers and used that exact scale, while I made them from scratch without using any size examples from original Star Destroyers.
Just comparing the renders I think my standard turbolasers are bigger than the regular SW/ISD turbolasers.
That is a great looking model. Nice work by the way. I'm wondering though, why did you chose to use your talents in producing "your" version of Ansel's ship? You obviously have "mad skillz" as they say.
Also if you go by your current scaling system then your turbolaser turrets are bigger than an entire bridge module.
This is not directed toward you in anyway just an observation.

Just wanted to
But in some weeks I'm going to slow down my work on the Ferocious and begin a new project - sketches, models and level maps for a planned futuristic game...
I think you're referring to the 4 central main turbolasers? Indeed they are bigger than a bridge module. I think they were about 500-600 meters.
But the "normal" turbolasers are - including barrels - just about 50 meters long.

No harm in that man. Look forward to this new project of yours!
I guess these central cannons are something like the primary guns against other capital ships.
Like the broad-side cannons in the VEnators, only that they'Re 'outsourced' now...
You won the star prize!
But not only like the Venator's lateral gun batteries - those broad-side turbolaser/ion cannon batteries were also usual for Acclamators and ISDs!
Now I decided to move the main weapons into center. Looks cool and makes the design a bit more special...
Began the production of the renders for the "final" print.
First's finished - took 36h...
Monday morning my PC crashed. Program errors, corrupt files in C, also some files of the project were destroyed (of course they ain't saved on C...)
Fortunally I was cautious enough to always enable backups, copies etc. so nothings lost!
Today after 13h of fine rendering again a exception.
Now reinstalled windows (ok recovered). Hope now it works...

What does the underside look like so far?
I have to create some renders in which the bottom side wont be visible first. So I'll add details to the bottom side last...
I'm gone for only 3 weeks and he churns out the whole rest of the side!
Impressive, man!
