This is my next project, a single scene, not an entire 3D model. Looking out through the window on Mars base. I will try to get realistic model. If I can.

BTW, why can't I upload an attachment? When I try I get error "Unable to move/copy file".

Attachments have been broken for a while it seems.

    Just to update this

Rendered with V-Ray. I'm still not finished with this, it's not realistic enough. You can see an edge of the terrain visible in the window. I am concentrated on lower part of the base and I didn't do much to the ceiling or upper lights. That's why they look bad.

I like posting renders from the very beginning. When I look back I see how much progress I made.

That looks really good. I like the stuff you've added to the base.

Thanks Evil Genius. A lot of work is still awaiting me on this one.

How do you like white floor?

I like it. The bump texture on the floor is really nice.

I like it too. The floor looks practical and realistic, and allows the subtlety of the other details to shine.

And one larger image of this part

It seems that I will have to use even larger texture for floor bump map.

Are you using any filtering on that floor bump map? It looks very sharp.
  • I14R10I14R1070 Posts: 140Member
Yeah, it looks sharp. I think it's because of low resolution of the floor map. Only 3k x 3k. It does have bilinear interpolation, if you are referring to that.

    And slightly different landscape

I like them both, though I like the one with the mountain better.

This is one of the candidates for final render.

That looks really good. It's packed with stuff to look at, so no part of the image feels "empty." And, the lighting is great.

Final looks great. I was going to comment on the strength of the sunlight, but you've fixed that.

One thing that really sells it is the double reflections in the glass.

Thanks Tea Monster. There are few more things that need more work, but I got tired of working on one project for so long. I'll probably revisit it in the future and see if I can make it better. One thing I wanted is to add a dust devil outside.

Really looks authentic and functional. Is it a view port from an underground statian, or a surface station? In either case it looks good. Best of luck in your future endeavors.

It's a surface station. I will upload the images again. I closed my imgur account and forgot that I uploaded images to it and now they are gone.
