[RUMOR] CBS developping new Star Trek series (that's plural)

So, apparently, it appears CBS is in the process of making new Star Trek series. That's not 'a' new series, but TWO series! An NCIS/CSI variant and a medical/SAR variant.

Take it with a grain of salt, but still, this would be awesome. On the one hand I'm not sure if it would work, especially airing two different shows, but on the other hand... the return of Star Trek to the small screen would be so awesome!

Here's the source link. Read for yourself :)

I don't believe it. This sounds like a load of BS to me. I want to know what the source of this rumor is. (probably somebody who is sitting in front of their computer enjoying a cruel chuckle) Cookie cutter shows based off of the crap that's currently on TV doesn't sound like a legitimate idea that CBS would even bother developing into a Trek series. If they are serious, then they've lost their minds. What makes Star Trek so cool is that it's different. Aside from the iffy sounding plots, the other thing that makes me think this isn't real is the ship, it's from Star Trek Online.

(the ship in the article looks a hell of a lot like the Hephaestus class)

Well ... it sounds risky. Of course if you are taking the ''boldly go where no one has gone before'' seriously you just have to try out new show concepts. And the chance to become Trek back on the screen excuses almost everything ... but hell there is so much in it they could do wrong that I'm not sure if I want to have this. But anyway, its just rumor and most probably it will come to nothing.

Yeah, like why it sounds too stupid to be true. :p

Though, with all of the rumored new Trek shows since Enterprise went off the air, you never really know what's "real." ;)

Awww hot damn... That sucks. I picked this up from the Okuda's on facebook, that's why I thought it had at least some credibility...

I'd love to see a new Trek series and I would imagine it's inevitable we will see Trek back on the little screen...but for the love of all that is rational I hope it's NOT based on the new Star Crap movies and stays in the original canon universe.

I figured it was fake after I read the plot lines, even CBS wouldn't write that fan boy garbage. A warp jump gate?
