Can anybody help me re-register a couple of ships please?

Hi all. I have a couple of Ed Giddings meshes that I would seriously like to put new registrations on BUT my lack of modelling skills is preventing me. If they were texture based registrations, I could manage quite nicely thank you but unfortunately both models employ modelled ship's registrations which I have no idea (let alone skill) to adjust :(

The models are his excellent 1701-E and the Delta Flyer, both in 3ds Max.

Any help please?

    export them in such aa way that i could get them into sketchup and i may be able to help.

    Thanks for the offer mate. I think by the time I'd converted out then back in, I'll have screwed up the meshes :( (Spot the noob!)
