Horray I managed to get myself a model kit of the Enterprise, no its not the larger, more expensive version, but still it cost me Aï¿¡35...

So while looking through the painting guide at the back, all the duck blues and blacks is fine i understand that.

But can anyone give me some basic tips for the actual hull of the ship, I've look in a few other places and they talk about flat white, primer, Gloss white spray etc and its dumbfounded me a bit

I just want my enterprise to look authentic so i'm looking to here for help

and then i can get some Pics posted up of my progress :)

Ah, the 1:1000 Refit! I just got that kit for Christmas, seems like a great little kit. Are you planning to use the Aztec decals?

I'm not really the one to help you with accurate paint colors for it, I'm afraid... Just wanted to say, good luck with it!

My suggestion would be to look at Starship Modeler, as it's full of people who do, well, Starship models all the time.

    !

Yeah I think that would be best, think its too small to paint on the Aztec, and i'd probably screw it up. I did find a guide of some sort, where somebody who had built it, and used a Flat White spray, then another shade of white.

But I plan to buy all the paints etc in the next few days, and then I'll get started :D

    ** Update **

So finally i got started on the model, I decided in the end I was not going to give the hull a spray paint, as after buying the rest of the pain points etc it would of just cost me too much money,

Btw I recommend to anyone doing a model kit paint to go with Tamiya paint pots, the colours are better and it washes off your paint brush with ease :D

So first thing I did was build sub sections and then try to paint them best I could, as you can tell from the pics, my painting is pretty crap lol

    Next up was the decals.

I Cannot stress how fiddly, annoying and tiny these things are, but i am working my way slowly, I know that if I rush em, they will look worse than they already are

So the outside of the nacelles

    imag0054z.jpg

I was using an old casino card to cut straight lines lmao

And the start of the top of the bridge section

ugh why do they keep making the small kits snapfit? My TOS was a putty nightmare because if it. T_T Still gotta get my butt out to get a few of these before ppl rack up the price.
Each day we draw closer to the end.

    Here's some advice.
Use a thick or heavy tape around the area you want to paint. Makes it easier to keep the paint contained within the area.
Your right to an opinion does not make your opinion valid.

Am pretty much done with all the painting now.

So far, I have the top section of the saucer section almost complete, and the neck line of the secondary hull, I shall put pics up soon

I wouldn't have the patience for this, I'd find me a pre-built model, lol.
