Hey all, yet another project I'm actively working on. This one's a mod for Sins of a Solar Empire, where I aim to add a playable Colonial race. In the past 2 days I've completed 4 ships: Light Frigate (un-named), Anti-Strike Frigate (Colonial Defender), Heavy Combat Cruiser (Valkyrie), and Battleship-Class capital ship (Battlestar Galactica). Next on the to-do list in this order is the Heavy Assault Capital Ship (Battlestar Pegasus), Fighter Strike Craft (Mk7 Vipers) and Bomber Strike Craft (raptors). After that, I'll still have 12 more ships to model as well as all the stations that I haven't planned out yet. I'm no mapper, and texturing is still very new to me, so it'll be some time before I get around to all that yet. For now, here are a few renders of the fleet I've built thus far:

    this is a very cool start, really likeing the models and the idea...love sins of a solar empire, have all three.

    I would say to cheak out sins of the 13th tribe it is a mod for sins that has already been developed but was never fully finished....i dont think.

    Awh! I'm so sorry bud. I don't mean to ignore!
    I've actually looked into Sins of the Thirteenth Tribe. As a matter of fact, it's what inspired me to make this to begin with. My goal, however, is to make this mod more complete than SOTTT. I have 19 ships planned out for the Colonials, though the Cylons are still on the drawing board.

    its ok dude...i was just pulling your chain.

    I have SOTTT installed at the moment and like you said yes it is a good mod, but not complete, just wish they had finished it.

    19 ships, now that is cool...hope you manage to make the fighter carrier as that was missing in the mod, the updates look great, i cant wait for this to be finished and be able to play it...sign me up for beta testing...lol

    As you can see, not everything has hit the drawing board yet, but it only takes me a couple hours to make each ship, so I'm sure it won't be long before I conjure something up to fill each roll. Additionally, it should be noted that this is primarily being designed as a mod for the SOASE: Entrenchment expansion.

    ur models arnt really that high polyed. they are jsut base meshes.. do u do all ur detail in textures or what?

    They're game models for an RTS-style game. restraining the models to lower polycounts helps to ensure smooth game play across multiple systems whether they're low or high-end. In a sense, yes... all my details will be put into the textures.

    I think I know what you're talking about. That's a really cool idea. I think I'll try it. :]
