I must admit that I have no idea how I'll do the secondary hull, so if anyone can give me some help on how you do this kind of shapes (in SU or in other 3D software), I'll apreciate it very much.

Hey Rekkert, nice job so far! The Buenos Aires class is my favorite of Bernd Schneider's designs, and you're doing a fantastic job. As for doing the underbelly, so to speak, I know in some technical 3D design programs to make a complex geometry you create sections and then blend the sections together, so if there is something like that in what you're using that would be the best way to go.
...I must admit that I have no idea how I'll do the secondary hull, so if anyone can give me some help on how you do this kind of shapes (in SU or in other 3D software), I'll apreciate it very much.
You can start to do the sec hull with a half sphere. Later, apply non-uniform scale in the x and y axis and for the last a boolean operation to cut the back identation and the deflector. The hard work will be to clean the vertices and to find the better segments for the sphere you started with.
Other way, is to do the hull with spline and surface, but itAâs hard.
Thanks TrekMD!
I'm leaveing the secondary hull for the end anyway, and I'm almost done with the basic shape of the nacelles.
Although almost all of the ship's basic shapes are done, I didn't completely finished any part of it.
The nacelles look somehow bulkier than I expected, however, they follow the schematic closely and I like them anyway.

You might want to play around with alternate deflector dish set ups, with "pinstripes" trailing to either side to break up the front of the secondary hull, if you think it too bulbous.
Thank you all for the coments and sugestions!
Don't worry KmprAârak, I'm working on it, but things are slow. The secondary hull is very tricky, but, at my 4th attempt, I'm almost there. I'm pretty sure that I'll be able to finish it today and post some screens.

Nice design and even though I had to look it up (remembered the name and classbut couldn't picture it in my mind) it looks close to the references that are around.
Thanks Flanker!
And finally done with the hull! It's acually my 5th attempt (trust me, the others weren't worth showing), but I'm happy with the result so now I'll start adding details.

Interesting design... has that classic-ish feel to her yet retains unique qualities. If I may suggest for the long run, though, chaning the reflective material to something a little different? At the moment it seems more like plastic... when I do metals, I usually go with "Metal (Lume)" for mental ray renders, but, I'm hardly an expert in texturing and materials... far from it actually. xD Just thought I'd say.

Great work, keep on!!!
Final update of the week:

Keep up the good work!

Hope that helps.

The warp grill texture is actually a generic SketchUp wood material.:D
C&C welcome!
And the whole thing:
First try on the secondary hull:
Most likely I'll redo it, I don't like how the bottom looks like from a front view, but I think It's a step in the right direction.:D

neat stuff, please keep working at it!
