    I really like that ship, she's nice and organic looking. Though I'd be tempted to remove the bit at the bottom on the tail and just have it like a stingray's spike :)

    Indeed! Very submersible like! I'd get rid of the big tail and just put some downward+forward facing fins. The tail looks really heavy right now. I'd make the front intakes bigger too! :thumb:

    Just my 2p, but you should raise the nacelles high so they clear the wing.. intakes would in real life work better like that, and the thing would instantly look more interesting... Its looking a bit flat at the moment.

    Yup what Coolhand said ! The overall shape of the Cobra is pretty nice though, it reminds me of those fictional toy airplanes :D

    Okay, folks..... got side tracked again. But only slightly this time. This little thingy here goes with the insect guy, it's an Oliff Anirike Heavy-Cruiser. Hope to have an animation for it soon, that is once I finish with the texturing.

    This is my little yellow clunky, junky ship. Still not finished with it though, only a few more things to do. I amped-up the AO so everyone could see the darker areas better.

    I haven't done too much too it in the last two days in the way of building it, only just animating stuff. But I do have some size comparison renders and pics for it, to give everyone an idea of it's scale.

    This is one of several dozen high speed, mid-range (1/4 ly), heavily-armed, Earth made patrol ships. Which, after 10 years of service (2318-2328), were retired and given to a slightly less advanced, (50 years give or take); human-like, humanoid, alien race known as the Nirehn. In order to help them, patrol and defend their own borders against hostiles in their region of space. But, after another 10 to 15 years in service to the Nirehn, and after the Nirehn had developed a more advanced fleet of ships. Which were mainly based on this design btw. The remainder of these, were again decommissioned and sold, by the Nirehn, to whom ever could afford to buy one.

    This particular ship was purchased by an Earth company, that converted it into a heavy, 0-G - construction/demolition vessel. And after serving another 15 years as a construction ship, it was sold yet again to two brothers who intend to transform it into a small-scale cargo ship. More on this story later…much later…

    I'm guessing you want a Basalt texture. http://geology.about.com/od/more_igrocks/ig/basalt/massivebasalt.htm

    Your current scene looks like it was done in Bryce 2 and the water looks plastic. I've seen a lot of good images done with Bryce (does anyone still use that program?) but it took a lot of adjustments to the lighting. So whatever program you're using, I'd definitely work on the scene lighting.

    Bryce 5.5 actually. And yes the water does look like a big sheet of visqueen now that you mention it. :lol: And, I still use bryce, as well as terragen, vue, blender, rhino, and several others. And I have nearly a dozen or so more, installed, that I don't use. Take that yellow ship for instance, the textures alone were made in, gimp, photoshop and image ready (cs2), inkscape, and paint. It was just a matter of which icon I saw first. But for now, with this terrain at least, I'm stuck with bryce, until I figure out why vue won't work on my new computer; I think it's the graphics card.

    I have VUE Infinite 7 installed on my system (the lil' eggs in that image to the left were rendered in it) that replaced Bryce. I don't have nearly that many software packages installed on my system. 3DS, trueSpace, VUE, terragen and Photoshop/Image Ready 7. Now that I think on it all of my software is outdated! But it still works and it was all paid for. LOL

    Glad you found a good texture for your landscape.

    @ Elowan: I know, I wasn't so keen on them when I first did them, but the kind of sort of need to be there. For reasons of functionality and such. But I may change them a little.

    @ Lizzy777: There's no such thing as outdated software in my opinion, I still use a few packages that were discontinued when Windows ME was still around. :lol: As long as you get what you need to get done, done and did, it's cool. But, bryce is going to have to go back on the external hd for a while, because I got vue working again. But it's Vue 7 Pioneer, 8 Infinite still won't run. I'm just going to have to get Render-Up and a few of the other plugins and add-ons to make pioneer work out for the time being.

    Me too. Been using LW 7.5d since forever (despite that I have the later version). I'm just more comfortable with it.
