Photoshop - hard edge on a planet

Davide_sdDavide_sd4 Posts: 0Member
Hi all, i'm trying to create a planet with photoshop, and i have a question. I used the Ellipse tool to create the base circle of the planet...but as you can see the border isn't smooth. I've tryed to blurred a bit the pic, but the hard edge still remain. Is there a way to remove it?
Thanks in advanced!!!

you could try copying the planet to a new layer and adding a gaussian blur of a few pixels to the underlying layer, this should fill in the aliased areas. add some atmospheric effects on top (not necessarily earth-like atmosphere of course) and you probably wont be able to tell.

on your selection settings, there's a feather value. try a 1 or 2 pixel feather. it should do the trick.
