I'm wondering if there is anybody with tips on how to create nice looking interior lighting in 3dsmax when there are NO external light sources? Every tutorial I find for interior lighting always includes a window and assumes it's a lovely sunny day, not all that useful when you're on a starship or an underground base where there would be no windows.
So I'm talking about anything to help me get to grips with lighting these interiors (specifically it's a new Stargate gateroom that I'm modelling) where there'd be only artificial lights. Any help would be appreciated.
remember to use inverse falloff decay on your lights, and you might want to use Mental Ray, with global illumination, so you can simulate the light bouncing from one surface to another.
