By the way, as a piece of constructive criticism, you didn't get the proportions right (wingspan vs length for example... I actually took the image and cut all but the plane out and then scaled the plane such so that 20 pixels equalled one foot of length... for the F-15 drawing for example, the plane is 63'9" which = 63.75 x 20 pixels = 1275 pixels. In either case, the span wasn't right for the length or vice versa)

Nice job, but what's the little thing at the front of the canopy?
  • bagera4000bagera4000269 Posts: 1,545Member
fuel prob for refueling most navy birds have it covered up or expandable prob

    Bagera's right, it's a fixed air-to-air refueling probe.

The prowler was old enough that it was retrofitted in later I do believe, hence why it is fixed at a funny spot. modern jets prefer it behind the canopy. The real question is can you find it on Airforce One?

Oh and before I forget Nice drawings they all look fantastic.

actual navy bird still have probes only air force use prob a bucket type

yeah, most navy birds have an extending probe for the drogue system (the shuttle-cock type basket on the refueling plane)

One question Bagera4000: Is this prowler reversed? The probe is leaning over towards the centre of the pilots line of sight, I thought it lent over slightly into the BN's side of the canopy? I could be wrong, I haven't looked at a prowler in many years.

macross has not put out much in design work yet on theme an if i wing it off images thay will not be right on

Given how there are about a full dozen official design images of the 25 floating around that will be pretty much it for design works. The 171 is still a barely shown plane, but it's barely deviant from it's M7 design base.

You'll have to look at the Toy if you are looking for accuracy, because it's unlikely for much more sketch wise as his last design book was not as detailed as earlier versions were.

Just a request. Could you do a super high res of the F-22, top and bottom. I have your other ones and used them as reference for some bumpmaps, but they only have the major stuff, not all the smaller panels and cracks.

If you can, thanx, if not thats okay.
