3DS Max 6 - Changing Textures over Time

mmarablemmarable0 Posts: 0Member
Okay, I'm giving myself a headache trying to figure this out. I feel like I'm getting close, but so far nothing.

What I'm looking to do is change the bitmap texture over time. I'd like to change the surface maps on a planet to show the change of seasons over time, or even show the continental plates moving over the years. In my mind, I'm picturing texture "A" showing for let's say 5 seconds and then it fades into texture "B" and so on.

Can someone point me into the right direction, if this is possible?

Thanks
Mike

Slap a 'MIX' map in the defuse color!

Now select you two earthmaps and put them in the color 1 and 2 slots in the mixmap!

Hit 'autokey' so it turns red, move the keybar forward, dosn't matter how far really since you're probably gonna need to adjust in trackview later!

In the mixmap turn the 'mix amount' up to hundred!

hit 'autokey' again to turn it of...

now the first texture will slowly - depending on number of frames - fade into the second texture!

    That what you wanted!?!
