Very nice work. Fantastic show, it's a shame it got cancelled so early.
Thank you. One of the many cancelled shows that were worth keeping.
The problem is, the show was on Fox. Fox has a bad habit of cancelling great shows. Of course, the messed up order in which they aired the episodes didn't help. I was actually out of the country (I'm from the US) during the entire run of the series, so I never saw it in the order in which Fox aired the episodes. I saw it years later on DVD, in the intended order. I was mystified on why the show had low ratings, until I saw the Fox broadcast order.

I don't think it got much of a run here (Australia) on TV. It might have, I don't ever recall hearing about it back then. I had a friend at Uni who saw it in the UK, she was so hyped about it. I'd forgotten it then for about 2 years when I saw it on the DVD shelves, heavily discounted. So I bought it and my reaction was the same as yours.
Life is a dream — that knows no shade.
Life is a dream — of pain and woe.
A dream from which — we pray to wake.
A dream from which — we wake and go

I guess in a way I was lucky not to have suffered that. Have you since been able to watch it entirely?

Oh heck yeah. Watch the series and follow up film in order at least once a year.
Glad you did! I just loved the ending of Serenity, although losing Wash was sad.
