Hey i finished a model recently that uses mesh smooth, however it needs a high amount of meshsmooth to look good (3 iterations) so as you can imagine it hogs the viewport memory quite well. so i used the render iterations tab to make the mesh only smooth when it is being rendered
My problem however is that when i go to UV map the thing, i cant seem to map the smoothed version, so my question is: is there a way to uv map the smooth version of the model while still keeping it unsmoothed in the viewport?
Im using 3ds max btw and thankyou in advance to anyone who takes the time to read and answer:)
then when you select the unwrap you'll be able to map your cage, not the resulting millions of polys from the turbosmooth, you'll still see the smoothed result in the viewport unless you click the "Show end result on/off" toggle.
