First blush they look a little too small for the size of the ship, but after a bit they end up looking right. Size-wise and placement I mean.
I *have* another idea, but it's going to take a little work. I'll see if I can knock up a quick study model of them to show, I've been looking at dragonfly legs and have been inspired...
More soon :-)

Landing Leg study continues - I'm liking this idea, so am likely going to run with it. Haven't cut gear holes into the ship proper as I want to settle on a design for them first - but as I say, this is sitting right with me -
Comments are always welcome, more soon :-)

Beginning to think about deck placement, I already have some ideas what will go where -
The upper deck - Flight Deck (bridge), primary access to the Central Artificial Intelligence Nexus, Lift access, Teleport Bay, Main lab, LINK storage Bay.
Mid deck - Living quarters, Medical Unit, Lift access.
Lower deck - Egress hatch and ramp, Lift access.

I know you weren't necessarily partial to that hexagonal plating but I love it, especially with the light reflecting off it
It has grown on me, and I haven't really come up with a decent replacement for it - so I guess it will stay :-) I have created a better version of it in PSP and ma using that now. I love how reflective it is as well. Played around with the settings in Max to get that shine nice and right. Might revisit some of my older projects and use the same technique.
Think I need to create a more dynamic picture, one where those big old particle cannons are blazing. I may borrow from my Blake's 7 project folder for that one, as I don't have any "enemy" ships to pit it against. It will be fun to play around with explosions again!
More soon :-)

Gear bays need to be finished. Egress hatch and ramp need to be added, as do some more surface details, and then... The interior!
